Restoran Ye Lin 椰林海鲜饭店 — Restaurant in Perak

Frankly, I don’t understand all these people complaining that they waited 1.5, 2 and even 3 hours. Maybe they need to buy a new watch.

I came here on Thursday evening around 8:30, and the owner told me that I would have to wait cause there were 4 tables before us.

Still, we started getting the food in 30 minutes, which I think it’s pretty good.

Let’s not forgot that is not fine dining and you are on an island of Marley 15k inhabitants.

The only reason for 4 stars is because we repeated our order before she left, and she still brought the house style tofu.

The fried squid were incredibly tender and nicely coated.

The steamed snapper in ginger sauce was more of a light soya sauce, but fresh and tasty.

Even the fried rice was tasty with plenty of chicken, fish balls, squid, shrimps and eggs.

The lettuce with garlic sauce was a good size with nice crispy lettuce.

We reached at 5:50 pm. Stood in the queue for an hour. Got seated at around 7 pm. The food was served at 8:50 pm. 3 hours for 3 types of small dishes are just RIDICULOUS (mantis, squid, and kangkong).

They probably only had 1 chef in-charge and seemingly 2 waiters around. They cooked by table’s order which made it very ineffective and resulted long waiting.

It’s just not worthy for 3 hours of my life but it seems everything in Pangkor island itself just messy and not well managed.

Despite all the good review we saw in the internet, we had a very disappointing experience in Ye Lin. We ordered Asam fish, the source is so-so, and the fish is small even for two person, the fried sotong is abit too hard to chew. The fried oyster , contains 90% of flour and only 10% of oyster, I only see one or two complete oyster, the rest (if any) are only small fragments.
