I recently had the absolute delight of dining at Souper Tang at Ipoh Parade and was thoroughly impressed by the food, service, and overall ambience of the restaurant.
The dishes I had were testament to the culinary expertise of the chefs. The Signature Stone Pot Rice, steamed over pork base, was an exquisite blend of flavors that spoke volumes about the quality of ingredients used. The succulent pork mingled with the rice to create a heartwarming dish that was both comforting and satisfying.
Equally impressive was the Stir Fried French Bean with PU-ER. The beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned, retaining their crunch while absorbing the complex flavors of the PU-ER. This dish was a testament to the harmonious blending of traditional cooking techniques with innovative ingredients.
The Sesame Oil Ginger Wine & Herbs Chicken Mee Suah was another highlight. The distinct aroma of sesame oil and ginger wine permeated through the dish, creating a delightful symphony of flavours. The tender chicken pieces and mee suah noodles created a beautifully textured experience that had me savouring every bite.
The waitstaff were exemplary in their service. They were attentive, prompt, and extremely courteous, contributing significantly to my enjoyable dining experience. Their suggestions and understanding of the menu were greatly appreciated.
The ambience of the restaurant only added to the experience. The combination of a modern, clean aesthetic and a warm, inviting atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable meal.
Souper Tang at Ipoh Parade is a gem in the culinary scene, combining exceptional food, excellent service, and a fantastic environment. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable gastronomic experience. I will definitely be returning to try more of their...
Read moreI’m Indian, and I brought my mom to this restaurant to try a new cuisine we hadn’t experienced before. When we arrived, two staff members were standing at the entrance near the menu stand, where customers usually check the menu before entering. As soon as my mom and I stood in front of them, both Chinese staff members walked away from us and stood at a distance, looking at us and talking to each other. I felt hurt because just before us, they had assisted Chinese customers with the menu and welcomed them, but as soon as they saw us, they walked away, likely because we are Indian. Still, I waited patiently.
We started looking at the menu without any assistance from the staff, even though it was clear they were supposed to welcome and assist customers, as they were the only ones at the entrance. We stood there for quite a while, and I made direct eye contact with one of the staff members, hoping she would come over to help us or at least check if there was space for us. Instead, both of them just stared at us with rude expressions and never came to assist or welcome us.
I even tried staring at one of them to get her attention, but she just smirked at me and didn’t approach. After standing there for about 5 to 10 minutes, we decided to leave. I couldn’t help but wonder if they assumed we couldn’t afford their food because we’re Indian. Even if it was because it’s a traditional Chinese restaurant, who are they to decide whether we want to try their food or not? I’m someone who loves exploring new dishes! I’ll never forget that moment and the poor hospitality my mom and I experienced at...
Read moreThe restaurant has a policy of free Caramel Beancurd if you give them a positive review, so I wouldn't necessarily trust other reviews here. First of all, the atmosphere was terrible. A lack of a wall between the shop and the corridor made all the loud sounds enter the restaurant. I could barely hear the waiter talking when I ordered my food. Next, he told me I could get free Beancurd if I gave them a positive review on Google Maps. I said no as it was downright deception to the customers if I did that. And there were flies and cockroaches. I guess that's not hygienic at all... Next, the slow service. My food came exceptionally late. The manager also seemed to be busy calling someone on his phone loudly, and it annoyed me, but I still had high expectations. Don't judge a book by its cover, so the food must be great, right? Well, I was in for the ultimate disappointment. The chicken was tiny and the pork dish had too much giant yam slices. The yam must have outnumbered the pork slices in that dish! Even worse, the Caramel Beancurd was cold, tasted strange, and the size of the bowl was deceiving. But hey, the meat and soups still taste good, so I'll call that a win. 🙂 Overall, don't come here unless you have a large budget. Food here is very overpriced and not so great service and atmosphere. And don't trust other 5 star reviews of this place, as they get...
