Walked past and decided to try this branch in Ipoh. There used to be a branch in KL Sentral, but it has closed, so this was perhaps the next best thing to the original chendul in Penang. The Curry Mee was nice, mild and just lemak enough without being too cloying. The Nasi Lemak was delicious, and the fried chicken was very tasty. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the Chendul. I really enjoyed the refreshing dessert, the gula melaka paired really well with the coconut milk, and the result is a wonderful dessert that was neither too sweet nor too milky. While waiting for our order, my kids were taking turns reading the paper menu that was in a torn up clear folder but suddenly the staff came to snatch it away saying the folder will tear. It was already cracked and torn in the first place. If so concerned about your precious menus that you have to snatch it away from paying customers, but can't even afford to replace the plastic folders, please switch to a digital one. Pathetic.
