Tried the burrito at Taco Bell in Tropicana Gardens mall. Then really wanted to eat a burrito without waiting for 1 hour at Taco Bell so decided to try the one here. Not really a real Mexican restaurant but has some of the Tex-Mex food that I was looking for. Clean and comfortable environment. Service is good and staff will ask how is your meal.
Actually I like the burrito here more because it tastes more like burrito and has more meat too inside too. Although it has less veges and has rice inside, but it's great that there is not many sauces inside to mess up the taste.
The burrito is great. Will try others next time.
Update 1: This time ordered the beef quesadilla. It is similar in taste to the burrito but no rice and got cheese. A little oily but taste good as well.
Update 2: Went another time and tried the fajitas. At RM24.90 it was almost rm10 more than the burritos, but the meat and vege tasted quite burnt. Not so great.
Update 3: Wanted to eat the burrito again but finally tried the RM19.90 Double Trouble burger as the menu made it sounds interesting. Bad move... this time it's bad. Took 30 minutes for my coke to come and 45 minutes for my burger to arrive (although restaurant had few people inside). No cultery was given to eat such a tall burger too. Burger patties looks thick but tastes weird... like burnt bitter, salty, sour, peppery all at once. Man, i should have just stuck to the burrito.
Now the previously 5 star rating I gave has been...
Read moreAmigos Restaurant's location is not exactly what I'd say strategic. Heading towards Sunway Damansara area from Thompson Hospital, one would easily miss the restaurant on the left. The commercial block of this mixed development was quite deserted at night as witnessed by yours truly.
The whole restaurant was OK not too fancy but too basic either. Service was lacked but they made up with competently cooked food - just walk in, do not expect any form of service and you'd be fine.
◾Mozzarella stick with salsa dip - perfect starter that got everyone going. ◾Buffalo Wings - chicken wings glazed with in-house hot buffalo sauce. Finished by the hungry prince alone. ◾Chicken Burritos that would easily fill one's tummy with corn, veggie, rice & nacho cheese. Delicious yet quite filling even for a small kid. ◾Pesto Pizza won everyone with the ingredients but the base was slightly dense. ◾Lamb racks - not exactly racks but more of cutlets marinated with spices & coriander. Served with 2 sides of choice. Love how the seasoning penetrated the meat making each and every bite a bliss. ◾Amigos Platter represent best value for money with 1 chicken skewer + 1 beef skewer + 1 lamb kebab + 1 chicken kebab grilled over slow burning charcoal fire. ◾ Drinks - mint tea; mango smoothies; fresh orange juice. No alcohol served or allowed.
Note: They have shisha in the restaurant but lucky for us, nobody smoked it...
Read moreWent to this place for dinner with a hungry bunch. We just passed by this place and decided to try it out after a quick look at the so called good reviews. Waited more than half an hour for our food to arrive. We waited further another 15 mins thinking our uncle's food will arrive later but it never did. Called up the waiter and he said they are preparing. After 10 mins called him again and he came back with a confused face and asked ' Did u not order only 3 dishes? ' . We were furious as there were 4 of us and we clearly ordered 4 dishes for all of us. At the counter when I went to pay , the same waiter said he is not the usual person who takes food orders and they are understaffed. What kind of excuse is that? In reality, the whole restaurant was empty except for only 3 occupied table and we were the only ones who ordered food and the others were just having drinks and light ears. So why open the restaurant if you can't service 3 tables of customers even if you are undrrstaffed ! My poor uncle left with empty stomach and were were very angry with their excuses and poor service. Food was just average by the way. Nothing to shout about. Not going back and not recommending...
