Definitely the place to flex your “refined taste” - because nothing screams utter sophistication like dropping serious cash on glorified rice porridge. The embroidered menu oozes luxury, parading a cornucopia of shellfish - oysters, abalone, king prawns, clams, and crabs - all enlisted to elevate the humble congee into a symbol of status.

The crockpot arrives ceremoniously, complete with a gold-coloured ladle and three mostly unnecessary garnishes - but only after a 40-minute wait, as if to whisper, “Good things come to those who wait.” So, was it good?

To be fair, yes - the porridge was rich, intense, and undeniably flavourful and the seafood fresh. The kitchen clearly knew its way around the premium marine produce. But restraint isn’t part of the recipe here. “Less is more” took the night off, and “More is better” ruled supreme. In 1994, Mr. Zhong Zhiming founded a restaurant specializing in traditional Cantonese soup with his passion for Cantonese cuisine. Mr. Zhong firmly believes that making soup is not only a cooking skill, but also a way of conveying warmth. He uses carefully selected ingredients and exquisite craftsmanship to cook each bowl of rich soup, aiming to let every diner feel the taste of home and the human touch. With this original intention, the restaurant has the warm name of "Soup Family", which symbolizes the emotional connection between people and carries the deep feelings for Chinese food culture.

Now this inheritance has entered a new chapter. Mr. Zhong Yaohan, the son of Mr. Zhong, has been influenced by his father since he was a child and knows the craftsmanship behind every bowl of delicious soup. I recently had the pleasure of trying their Crab Congee, and it was simply sublime – rich, comforting, and packed with the sweet flavor of fresh crab. The You Tiao with a sweet topping and dragon fruit was a unique and delicious end to the meal. Every dish was prepared with care and tasted incredibly fresh.
