Farmers Street @ Jaya Shopping Centre — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

My family came to this restaurant on 6thSunday for lunch and vowed never to eat in this place again after our not so pleasant gastronomic experience! The Kapitan curry was nothing exceptional as I have tasted better ones elsewhere. The so called Nyonya Curry Laksa tasted like ugh....I have had tastier curry laksa - Nyonya or otherwise - from hawker stalls in back alleys! The Chicken chop was so so. But all the chicken meat in the dishes we ordered tasted like they were NOT FRESH, in fact almost FOUL! Is the refrigeration system in this restaurant faulty? Or chicken past its expiry date is used that day (hope not, so we will give you the benefit of the doubt)? Only the order of Fishballs (of the Noodle Soup) in terms of texture & taste were good. We came here on the perchance that this was the better of the other shops in this complex and we were not disappointed. The owner Penny was available and very friendly. The nasi lemak was hot, fragrant and had that real kampung taste. It was certainly worth the.price. We also tried the pie tee which was generously portioned and with a flavourful dipping sauce. Even the curry mee was creamy and tasted very authentic with loads of beansprouts and finely chopped garnishing. We will definitely be back to tey their assam pedas pari curry too. Food is good but the outlet needs A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT in floor management & kitchen management, especially during weekday lunch. As most customers come here during their office lunch hour, a wait of more than 45 minutes after ordering isn't acceptable for most people on their lunch break as people have to gobble down their food upon getting their order.
