Run by actual Penang people, Pin Chou cafe started life as a mom-and-pop sundry goods shop but has since morphed into a full-blown cafe serving a selection of Penang style dishes. Lunch service is buffet style -- you get a plate of rice and you spoon your dishes from a selection of about 15-20 items before pricing and paying. On certain days you'll see a treat -- Perut Ikan curry which is a sour Nyonya curry made with local daun kadok, chillis, pineapple and pickled fish guts. Sounds weird but tastes great! Also notable is that there are a number of daily specials which you can order including Mee Rebus, Prawn Mee, Curry Mee etc which are very authentic to the Penang style.
