Dinner last night in this magical place was truly a worthy gastronomic experience. From the outside facade to the inside, it is well adorned with original pieces of Malaysian and Nonya history. Reserved a place and was seated with no effort. Although the place is an average shop size, that accommodates 8 tables, no more no less, the sheer depth and atmosphere of its historical content and feel made us quickly ease in and felt just like a cozy home transporting us back into time playing a small role in Nonya history. No easy feat. The dishes ordered arrived in good timing, while waiting we were marinated with rich history and culture on the walls and shelfs. Never a boring moment. leading to the kitchen, there hung the original document of the Titanic, it's food menu for 2nd and 3rd class, an interesting touch and twist in the deco. We ordered 9 dishes and 3 types of dessert, all in small portion so that we can try as many types of Nonya food taste. I have to say all the dishes were well made, quality and consistency was the essence felt. Quality of ingredients, consistency in delivering satisfaction in every bite. The food did not immediately blew me away, but it eventually did like a slow blowing fuse. The food style can be rather subtle, it does take time to feel and taste it, it's flavorful qualities take time to revel itself. Although this setup is not fine dining, it totally felt like it. I was having a whale of a time. It makes me wonder, what it means by authentic Nonya cruisine, I don't know what the dictionary defines it, but it felt like I had an honest one. I can say I had a meaningful Nonya dinner last night. And one I intend to share with my close friends and family. I applaude the owner of this establishment in bringing a true gem into the belly of those fortunate enough to enjoy it. What are the not so good part? If there is one, it's not the restaurant but the parking part. Prepare to drive a few rounds around the block to find a slot. And maybe in the future when more people know about this gem it may be even harder to get a place in the 8 table limited dinner. Seeing some reviews mentioning pricy, I feel if the quality and quantity and visceral experience meets and exceeds the expectation then it's likely a value proposition each to judge for themselves. Kindly take review with a pinch of salt, as it was peak-time and really hectic on Mother's day. Ordered the Mother's Day Promotion Vegetarian at the recommendation of the staff, with an additional serving of chicken rendang (non-vege). Assumed that by ordering the set menu, it would make it easy for the restaurant and hasten the speed. The opposite happened; people who ordered ala carte gets served quicker. Service was terrible and very slow; whole ordeal took 2+ hours. Highly dissatisfied for the following reasons:

  1. Very slow food turnaround and service; had to request 3 times from the same staff for water before actually being brought one cup; had asked for water for all for the very beginning.
  2. The following items were swapped from the set menu: i) Vegetarian sambal prawn with mango kerabu. ii) Vegetarian Nyonya Chicken Rendang with Vegetarian Mutton Curry. When questioned, staff responded by saying the items were out and as such these are used as replacement. It is not that the items ran out that triggers dissatisfaction, but it is the fact that the dishes has been changed and served to us WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION and PRIOR CONSENT/AGREEMENT.
  3. Asked for dessert (pulut hitam with mata kucing, for takeaway as it was already getting late. Dessert never came.
  4. Chicken Rendang never came. Order was taken down as it was shown in the bill. It was then taken off the bill when told.
  5. Voiced dissatisfaction of poor and slow service to staff when paying, highlighting that the dishes shouldn't be changed without notifying us and seeking consent, and the chicken rendang and dessert that never came. No apologies offered, not even attempting nor showing any sincerity in their service.
  6. Been told that dessert is being prepared and be packed for takeaway shortly. Waited for longer than 10 minutes, and just gave up entirely and told the staff to forget about the dessert and left.

In all fairness, the food was okay. Nonetheless, it is too pricey for okay-ish food and terrible service. Total bill was MYR 646.80 (588 + 10% service charge). 10% is a lot for such a terrible service.

Not worth the value for money spent.

Would advise people to not go if place is crowded as the current staff team is not catered for too...

Little Heritage Restaurant: A Culinary Delight I recently had the pleasure of dining at Little Heritage Restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was captivated by the charming ambiance and warm atmosphere. The restaurant's interior décor took me back in time, with its vintage furniture, elegant chandeliers, and beautiful artwork adorning the walls. It truly felt like stepping into a different era, transporting me to a place of nostalgia and comfort. The menu at Little Heritage Restaurant is a culinary masterpiece. With a focus on local and seasonal ingredients, every dish is a celebration of flavors. The chefs skillfully blend traditional recipes with a modern twist, resulting in a truly remarkable dining experience. To start with, I ordered the fried rice set, the fried rice came out piping hot and it was the most beautiful rice I have seen so far, the aroma of the food was amazing that I almost cried of joy Of course, no meal is complete without a satisfying dessert. The Little Heritage Restaurant did not disappoint in this aspect either. I sampled the gula melaka —a velvety jelly with a hint of sweet syrup. It was pure bliss, the perfect ending to an unforgettable dining experience. What sets Little Heritage Restaurant apart is not just the exquisite food, but also the impeccable service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable evening. They catered to my dietary restrictions with ease, accommodating every requested modification without compromising on the quality or taste of the dishes. Little Heritage Restaurant truly embodies the essence of fine dining. With its charming ambiance, exceptional cuisine, and impeccable service, it is a gem that deserves recognition. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend Little Heritage Restaurant for an unforgettable journey through...

The most authentic Nyonya cuisine! Good service and good vibe! Love it!

This hidden gem has been around for over a decade, yet it somehow stayed off our radar—until today. What a fortuitous discovery! The museum-like interior is a feast for the senses, with refined table settings that exude old school class and elegance. And yet, despite its grandeur, it manages to feel as warm and inviting as home. We ordered the 4-6 pax CNY lunch set for the seven of us and the portions were so generous, it could have easily fed 10-12! Nyonya cuisine from Penang has subtle differences compared to its counterpart from Melaka. Penang’s version places greater emphasis on spiciness and tanginess, incorporating ingredients such as tamarind, lime, ginger, mint, and belacan (shrimp paste)—influenced by its proximity to Thailand and historical trade with India. In contrast, Melaka’s Nyonya cuisine, shaped by Portuguese and Indonesian influences, leans towards richness and sweetness, often featuring coconut milk and aromatic spices. On that note, LHH delivered handsomely and proficiently on all levels. The fruit-laden Yue Sang was a refreshing twist on the standard version, with the finely julienned fruits and vegetables standing out. The meticulous and beautifully arranged plating added to its appeal. The appetiser platter—featuring Prawn Fritters, Fish Cake, Lobak, and Kerabu—was delightful. The ABC soup, enriched with dried scallops and dried cuttlefish, was particularly enjoyable. The Petai Prawns were excellent and my favourite dish. The Fried Black Pomfret was scrumptious, as were the Fern Tips with Sambal. While the Chicken Curry was tasty, it felt quite ordinary, and the Tofu lacked impact. Much must be mentioned about the impeccable service team. They were a perfect 10!
