Review from June 2023: Thinking of tsukemen after our recent Tokyo trip... So today we went to Starling Mall's Mitsuyado Malaysia which we haven't been for quite some time (about a year), and we are surprised that their menu has expanded so much!

My friend at Tokyo, recommended the Chicken Broth Tsukemen last time from the Mitsuyado Tokyo's branch. So I am glad to see it's now available in Malaysia and also with promo price now (for weekdays)! Of course, I ordered it and it's yummy because it's lite and has a good yuzu taste to the chicken shoyu broth. I always choose the "Cold" noodles so it feels more chewy~

It's non-halal though because the place serves pork and the yuzu oil contains non-halal ingredient. I also ordered the extra side dish of Chicken Kaarage with my set - the chicken pieces are big and juicy with thin layer of crispy batter... tasty!

We also had the Karashi tsukemen which is nice too but not very spicy so we had to add more chili powder and chili oil, kindly provided by the restaurant. To top things off, we also got a spicy boiled gyoza which is good and a small bowl of Cheese and Taco sauce rice with egg... but I won't recommend this because it doesn't fit in with the Japanese food we are having, it's like I am in a complete different restaurant eating a different kind of food. It's still good but I wouldn't order this next time unless I really want a taste of non-Japanese food.

Staff at Starling Mall were nice and very efficient with refilling our iced green tea too.

Review from August 2023: We went to try the Volcano tsukemen, it's tasty but very spicy!! A good type of spicy but please only attempt if you can take very spicy food. It comes with whipped egg white on top which looks very unique and probably 'cool' the...

Today was my second bad experience with the restaurant. I had a bowl of white rice that I was feeding my child. I used a clean spoon to move the food to her children container for her to eat.

While I went thru half way with the rice, I have found sauce stains. It means it was a recycle rice from other dishes. There was no way we would have sauce as our dishes was only fried chicken.

I had to throw everything away and stop feeding my child. Hopefully she is not going to catch sickness or virus from it.

The restaurant says it was burnt rice which was ridiculous as it was soft with sauce. Such disgusting hygiene the restaurant fails to know the importance.

Last time I have caught the chef smoking outdoor without washing up before preparing food.

I am never going to this restaurant again. Please check your food when you eat and be careful.

It is relieved to hear that your restaurant don’t recycle rice.

However I am sure it was a sauce with rice and not anything burnt which it is not the first bowl of rice for me to different shade. It was definitely sauce as it was soft with stains to the next rice when I move it.

Please kindly check Next time before serving to ensure something like this doesn’t leave an unpleasant experience and ensure your staff come forward to explain in details when someone ask.

Customers doesn’t find time to complain or review for nothing that is not meaningful and please provide a phone to the right person next time to call for something as this as well.

As we were so worried sick that we would caught something...

New ramen restaurant at Starling mall. The service staffs must be new to the scene too since they were rather blur to which ramen is which when our orders arrived. Or perhaps they aren't familiar with the menu items yet. The ramen concept will be familiar to those who've been to Ippudo, Ramen-Bankara where you can customise your soup base, strength of flavour, noodles type and toppings to go with it. The one we've tried are the garlic tonkotsu, normal tonkotsu and spicy tonkotsu with flavour strength from strong to normal. I find the soup base to be favourable towards people who don't want their soup to be too salty, porky and thick i.e. Ippudo. The spicy tonkotsu was the best for me, as it had a different dimension of flavour compared to the other 2, kind of like Sapporo ramen(Ichiban ramen) but more spicy & it's with pork broth. The toppings, are standard since we chose to have all toppings. The black fungus was given as a whole instead of strips, therefore textures while slurping and chewing is less satisfying since there isn't much crunch. Noodles hardness can be either hard, normal or soft. Not much fault to find with the ramen served here. Seatings are comfortable, lightings very elderly friendly, and good hygiene. Price is standard for the area and within the same food industry. Portion is sufficient for the...

This is one of the best place in Klang Valley that you can taste nice ramen. Tonkotsu ramen is quite popular here in Malaysia but ramen has more varieties other than Tonkotsu. And at this Mitsuyado, you can have nice soya sauce based soup variety. I tried their chicken ramen, whose soup base was made from chicken bones and tasted with soya sauce and other ingredients. Unlike Tonkotsu soup, which is made from pork bones, their chicken based broth is light and clear yet has some profound umami or flavour in the soup. The speciality of this ramen joint is tsuke men or noodle served with some dipping sauce separately, but their soupy ramen is very nice. If you only know Tonkotsu ramen, I'd recommend to try Mitsuyado's soya sauce flavour ramen. And until the end of July 2018, they have one year anniversary promo, and some of the menu are given discount. The chicken ramen I had usually costs RM27.00 for large and RM25.20 for regular serving, but during this promo period, the large one is RM20.80 and the regular one is RM19.00. Some of their tsuke men menu are also given discount, so this month might be a good chance to taste their ramen if you have not tried yet,
