Dining at Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant in Uptown Damansara is a delightful experience, particularly for those with a penchant for vegetarian cuisine. The restaurant’s commitment to quality and taste is evident in every dish served. From the intricately prepared sushi rolls that boast a perfect balance of rice and fillings to the luscious green seaweed salad, each bite is a testament to the culinary skills of the chefs. The tamago sushi, with its delicate sweetness wrapped in a strip of seaweed, was a joy to the palate, while the glazed tofu atop sushi rice was an umami-packed delight, garnished with a generous sprinkle of sesame seeds that added a nice textural contrast.
The main course of mushroom cheese ramen was an absolute standout. The noodles were perfectly al dente, tossed with a variety of fresh vegetables in a light yet creamy sauce that was both comforting and invigorating. It was a dish that showcased simplicity and flavor in equal measure.
What truly sets Fujiyama apart is not just the quality of the food but also the ambiance. The restaurant provides a warm and welcoming environment, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The service was impeccable, with staff members who were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring a seamless dining experience from start to finish.
In conclusion, Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant is a must-visit for any vegetarian food lover in Uptown Damansara. They have crafted a menu that is both innovative and satisfying, proving that vegetarian fare can be just as exciting and delicious as any other cuisine. Read moreHeard of this place for quite a while now and finally came to try. Opted for the more budget conscious options with my brother first to kind of try out their offerings. Ultimately pretty surprised with the good value of portion/quality of overall food.
This place specialises in Japanese fusion cuisine and just from the menus structure and offering, my educated guess would be Japanese american style as the place and menu reminds of me of a local Japanese buffet restaurant in my university town during my college days a lot. With various diff style of sushi roll combinations and offerings and slightly more creative vs traditional conventional Japanese food.
Grilled saba was boneless and pretty moist and flavourful. Pairing with white rice is just nice. Edamame is decent and not mushy.
Teppanyaki beef is very flavorful, beef not too tough. But slight critique will be its sauce or saltiness is a little too over for my liking. Teppan fried rice is more of the saucy kind. Plenty of fried garlic chips for fragrance. So heavy flavours patrons will definitely enjoy this. But again for me just a tad bit too salty for me, and i would suggest pairing just regular white rice with the beef; or tone down the saltiness just a little bit more (maybe cause of the teriyaki).
Overall for 15.90 per bento inclusive of complementary refillable green tea at uptowns location. It’s kind of a no brainer value and quality meal overall.
Will definitely come back again to try other various menu...

BANNING THIS PLACE FOREVER.
The sushi all tasted like latex and soap. Made me sick the whole day. This is the second time this happened. First in person and now in Grab.
The first time it happened, all sushi smelt and tasted like COCKROACH SPRAY yang warna hijau tu. Bekas plastik pembungkus diorang ada traces of the bug spray wtf????
Decided to give them another chance and this time they all taste like LATEX & SOAP. Too bad Grab can't issue a refund because they can't confirm the taste. Banning this place forever. Hygiene ke laut.
-Previous review (in 2022 or 2023 can't remember)- -Halal, no pork, no lard-
Made a reservation, they were quick about it. Handled very well. (Make sure you're at the right branch though because there's another one nearby). Everyone was so nice eventhough they couldn't really understand BM that well.
Food wise, It's fusion sushi - not original sushi, a bit atas kind, but very delicious (for me as a Malaysian at least). Everything in the plate served goes well with each other. Nothing insulted my tongue. Hats off to the chef for being so creative!
Definitely 10/10. Give it a try! And don't skip any sauces. The chefs put them there not just as...
