Saw a posting on IG, and decided to check it out over the weekend. Firstly, finding a parking there was a challenge! That aside, we ordered the Siamese Laksa, Fish Head Noodle Soup and Popiah, Kopi-C hot and Kopi-O hot. So the drinks were reasonably OK lah, not the best we have tasted but OK. sadly, I cannot say the same for the Siamese Laksa and the Fish Head Noodle Soup! If you want to call it Siamese Laksa, please keep it authentic! No small prawns and chicken meat! I could hardly see any fish meat in the broth! It's more like fusion Laksa Lemak to me. And the colour and flavour are totally off! Perhaps, as comparison or a benchmark, the proprietor should go check out the Siamese Laksa at Little Penang Cafe, Atria! That's quite close. I also asked for extra bawang, pineapple & mints, but no need to pick on that as my small request was not met. I think for Siamese Laksa, the broth is the most important thing, the rest are just garnishings. It was quite a let down. Next was the Fish Head Noodle Soup - fair enough, the fish used was good fish, but the soup tasted funny! I took one sip and that was it! My sister also complained about the noodle used. The Popiah was so-so only, it was dry and lacking in flavours. That's the problem when it's prepared by foreigners. They somehow do not know how to adjust to our local taste buds. The only consolation was, the owner was very friendly and generous and he offered us a piece of his "soft buns", which has butter and kaya. That was good. I can't comment on the rest, but will I return to that kopitiam again??...
Read moreSaw this place on instagram, decided to give it a try but ended up with disappointment. Firstly I ordered a sandwich croissant and a bowl of siam laksa. So the croissant came first and it looked as if somemore bashed it. That's okay so after finishing the croissant, waited another 30 minutes, my siam laksa is still not here. Whereas the other two tables who came after me already finished their meal. Told the waiter off that my siam laksa have not arrive, he just said okay. Another 20 minutes nothing came, I stood up and told the counter directly, only then it finally came. In between of that so much confusion happening, going around table asking is this yours? Did you order this? This is what happened when you do marketing, and when you get the volume, you unable to handle it. The food were also so so, nothing blew me away. You should order the other hawker stalls much nicer food. Their service definitely much more room for improvements...
Read moreBeen here in like 20 years ago when it was still a typical kopitiam where food is good and atmosphere is stuffy and hot. Fast forward to today, the next generation took it to semi-cafe kopitiam style.
Friendly stalls owner with the main operator offering their own speciality such as Siam laksa (it’s assam laksa minus the fish and in kunyit base), fish fillet noodle and some pastries.
The stalls serve wide varieties of food from Sarawak kolo mee, Nasi lemak, popiah, wanton mee and chicken rice (combo stall), pan mee, pork noodle and char kuey teow.
Has the Siam Laksa and Fish noodle - taste is ok though the Siam laksa need a bit more salt or soya sauce to lift up the taste (maybe just my tongue).
Fish noodle is good with nice balance of evaporated milk and savouriness.
Drinks is highlight for me - on point as how a legit...
