Wish there is a no star option. Went for business lunch with 3 guests. Ordered Mamak Mee Goreng without chicken but with everything else as stated in the menu. But order arrived with only fried up noodles. Pointed it out to the waiter who took the order not only he couldn't understand he also argued this is what was ordered! My guests kept trying to tell him he got it wrong but he failed to understand or refused to accept his mistake. Then asked for the head waiter, a woman came and she started arguing this is what was ordered. She was quite aggressive and arrogant the way she approached the table. She was more like a bouncer than a head waitress. I told her if she continued to argue we would all leave. Then she gave in. It was an ugly experience. Getting the order wrong is one thing but to argue is unacceptable. A pleasant lunch turned out to be extremely unpleasant and embarrassing. I wonder if the owner knows how the staff are behaving and running the place. Or is it they don't care, after all the business is good. So why care about grouses, must be their attitude. And it is best to avoid this plane from 4.00 p.m. till sunset. There are no blinds and sun streams in really sharp and it is really hot and uncomfortable. The restaurant enjoys a lot of business and yet stinging over fixing couple of blinds. Blatant indifference. Wonder if the place is worth the aggravation. I strongly advise for the owners to look into how the place is being run...
Read moreI used to come here years back when the food was good and service was fantastic. We had a birthday reservation last week, and service was horrible.
Some orders were missed- the waiter did not even keyed our beef dish and sweet potato fries into the system, food came separately late so we had to wait OVER AN HOUR to start eating. The appetiser- we specifically mentioned to send these first ahead of other dishes- CAME IN LAST, almost at the same time when the dessert should be coming in. On top of that, we had to do twice the payment because not everything we ordered was keyed in? Seriously, tell me how hard could it be for you to miss not one, but two orders? Embarassing for a Group company like Serai. Even a hawker could do better.
Dear Serai Group, if your staff is incompetent, maybe it’s time to send them for upskilling. Our birthday celebration experience turned sour due to this silly mistakes throughout the night. I appreciate your effort trying to win our hearts back by offering a plate of banana fritters for free? But that’s not enough, try harder. How hard is it for you to mess up on appetisers and main dishes? All of your meals came pre-packed so it’s just a matter of...
Read moreThey have various cuisines on their menu like Malaysian cuisine, Thai cuisine, and some western food like fish & chips.
Since there were over 20 of us there, we ordered a variety of dishes from the menu but some highlights to mention were the Tomyam which was really nice. Its on the sour side which I like and not overly spicy that you can't enjoy spoonfuls of the delicious tomyam broth.
Another dish that was absolutely amazing and a must try if you ever visit is their fried brinjal dish. It's thinly sliced brinjal that's been battered and deep fried. It was super flavorful and I'll definitely be ordering this again when I visit.
Their dishes are typically very generous in portion especially their western dishes however if I were to compare their local and Thai dishes with their western, I would definitely recommend having their Asian dishes more. Their western dishes are decent but you can find these type of dishes elsewhere.
Overall highly recommended for their local Malaysian cuisines and their Thai food. Waiters and servers were very prompt in their service and the...
