Worst Service. We reached here at 12pm after another Thai restaurant telling us they only have 1 chef and 2 waiters. This Song Ngu restaurant have 4 chefs and 3 servers, so we thought it was OK. They're slow in getting the menu and we asked few times before "Darren' came to take orders. I order the lunch special for the day "shredded chicken fried rice" RM10. Things were chaotic outside even though the restaurant was only about 30% full. After asking Darren to check our orders, he somehow ignored us. An hour later after my friend finished her noodles, we catch "Min" to ask about the order. Min talked to Darren and Darren shouted at Min..then Min told us the rice finished. We came at lunch time and lunch special is finished?? With the few customers there? Then Min said he can change to "shredded chicken fried rice" RM20 for me?? I pointed out its the samething.. he said okok and give me the fried rice within 2 seconds. Not gonna lie i thought its funny how the rice magically just appeared. He said its not the same. Not thinking much i ate some of it..the chicken is dry..the whole thing is dry. Then when the bill came.. they charged us for "beef fried rice" RM25??
This place is bad. We saw then deny services for 3 elderly then after 1 minute they let a family of 4 to be seated. All 3 servers were pretty lost, the best staff is Min. The boss of this shop should seriously be considering demoting Darren and let Min be...
Read moreMy husband and I had a fantastic lunch at Song Ngu today! We started with their pho, and it was incredible.
My Vietnamese Chicken Pho was packed with flavor and delicious. The broth was amazing, the rice noodles were nice and smooth, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and tender.
Plus, they brought fresh bean sprouts and cilantro on the side so I could add them to my taste.
My husband's Duck Pho with Bamboshoot was just as good.
The broth had a bit more flavor than mine, but it was still delicious.
It came with lots of yummy duck meat and some bamboo shoots that added a fun texture.
We also shared a plate of Chicken Wings with Fish Sauce. These were amazing!
The wings were beautifully presented and had a delicious sweet and savory sauce.
They also had sliced onions for a bit of a bite and crushed peanuts for some extra crunch.
The restaurant itself was really inviting and colorful. The seats were comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
They knew all about the food and answered all our questions.
Overall, we had a great lunch at Song Ngu. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic.
We can't wait to go back and try...
Read moreAlthough new and with a rather limited menu, Song Ngu was a delight. We were tended to by Annie, and we ordered the red tilapia with tamarind sauce, the pomelo salad and I thought it odd that they did not have any soup on the menu, although they have it on the lunch set! And veg was a tad sparse, too. I was keen on dessert but was advised to consider ordering it later.
But no matter, as at the end of the meal, we both had eaten too much even though we shared a rice between us.
The fish was probably among the best I have come across. The fish was fried and served well filleted. The accompanying sauce was just spectacular. Tangy, sweet and sour and tart at the same time.
The pomelo salad came with little crackers, which I somehow took that it should be eaten together. The crunch was interesting, coupled with the bitter sweet sour of the pomelo pulp and the nuts, which was very good.
Service was very good.
Definitely returning...
