We visited this non-airconditional coffee shop on 2 occasions to try all the famous food here. We noticed that the food at noon time and dinner time were different. Best to come for dinner. On both occasions, 90% of the tables were occupied. Ordering at individual stalls and serving around 5 to 10 minutes.

Penang fried oyster at RM14 was terrible as it was operated by non Chinese. The egg was overfried, and flour was poorly done. The oyster was juicy but less than 7 pieces for RM14. 1 star

Grilled chicken wings at RM4 per piece was mediocre. Tasty and not overly done. 2 stars

Steam soup of lotus root RM10.50 and white rice at RM2 was too salty to our liking. It was the same owner as the puchong, but the taste was different a lot. 1 star

Ban mee was slightly above average. Broth was nicely done, and the thickness of the ban mee was appropriate. Anchovies were crispy, and pork slices were juicy and tender. If the mani vegetable taste can be stronger and more generous in ingredients, then it would be better. RM10 per serving with extra egg was a but pricey in light of stingy ingredients and vegetables. 3 stars

Prawn mee was mediocre. There's nothing to shout about. Broth lacked shrimp flavour and was too...

This legendary Sunway food joint is not only famous for food, its also a landmark for people to casually hangout in the Sunway area. Food are not that fancy, very straightforward, economical but good.

Here is what I will recommend to try based on my over 20 years of coming here.

  1. Stew duck - the hot steamy braised sauce is super savoury especially paired with rice or porridge.
  2. Mix pork soup - pork innards classic dish. Portion is good and salted vege based soup is super satisfying.
  3. Fried chicken - Crispy skin is great light snack to pair with a couple of beers.
  4. Melaka Nasi Lemak (morning only) - The rice is plain rice unlike the usual coconut based nasi lemak but the dishes here are extraordinary. The fried chicken is XXL in size and salty batter just perfect to go with their selection of spicy sambal and curry gravy. If you dont mind having bad breath after, their sambal petai is definately worth a try.

The variety of food here, just enormous. There is certainly something...

Fried Radish Cake / Koay Kak – RM8.50 | 3/10 Some people claim it’s good, but to me, it feels overrated. The radish cake chunks are too large, and the flavour is just average.

Fried Oysters – RM14 | 4/10 Unlike most stalls that fry oysters together with the batter, here they’re served separately. Execution needs improvement.

Fried Glass Noodle – RM9 | 6/10 Acceptable taste, nothing outstanding but edible.

Fish Ball Noodle – RM9 | 5/10 Moderate flavour, neither good nor bad, just average.

Overall, worth trying once, but not compelling enough for a return visit. The dining environment is uncomfortably hot, and staff couldn’t adjust the fans. If the fans are faulty, they should be replaced... otherwise, it’s hard to enjoy a meal in such conditions.

Easily more than 30 stalls operating at this kopitiam located across the NPE from Sunway Pyramid. Sharing a review of the China Food stall located towards the rear of the shop. The stall specialises in Szechuan cuisine. Have eaten the mala stir-fry big intestines twice and have come away fully satisfied on both occasions. Mala flavour is not overpowering yet gives the right punch. Tastes every bit as authentic and as good as Szechuan restaurants (if not better). And intestines have no weird taste. RM22 for a plate of generous serving. RM2 for a plate of plain rice if you want. Satisfaction guaranteed for mala and intestines lovers. Other Szechuan culinary items are also available (refer to photo). Including Szechuan skewers (photo not taken though). 6pm-2am daily except alternate Wednesday. Szechuan late night supper, anyone?
