Famous Tokyo's affordable Omakase restaurant in Malaysia

For RM388++, Sushinosuke offers a 20-course dinner which is limited to 16 pax per session at the spanking new Pinnacle PJ. With air-flown seafood directly from Japan every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.. we were treated to some of the best and freshest seafood available that evening when the home minister decided to celebrate my birthday in advance.

Chef Shou Emi wasn't around on my visit but Chef Takashi Motooka whom I believe his protege was there to make sure that both of us had a great night. The entire evening was jovial and happy affair. The restaurant manager, Edmonq, were helpful to help us in our questions, and to pour sake whenever we finished ours.

Note: enquire on their free-flow sake at RM100++ per pax for 90 minutes (Tue-Thu only) which is still on going via their Instagram page. They didn't provide phone number so that's the only way to connect with them.

Okinawan seaweed was perfect to start the evening. Yellowtail with onion sauce Blowtorched swordfish belly with pickled radish Red snapper sushi Shima Aji sushi with ginger/spring onion sauce Chutoro slightly blow torched Kinmedai sushi Snow Crab chawamushi with ikura - one of the best (if not the best) chawanmushi I'd tried. But not enough 😅 White shrimp sushi Abalone - cooked and braised to perfection. Uni & Ikura rice - highlight of the night when they took out the tray of uni and started to put on top of the ikura which on top of the bed of rice. Engawa on rice - melt-in-the-moutb fin of flounder fish. Forgot to ask Unagi sushi Tamago Akami sushi with yuzu zest Anago sushi Miso soup Temaki - otoro or chutoro Mochi

We were treated to complimentary matcha & goma ice cream for the celebrations. Honestly, both of us were slightly intoxicated at the end of our lovely dinner.

Lunch Omakase at RM188++ is available only on Saturday & Sunday which is quite popular as the chef asked us to book ahead if we...

Came here for a birthday celebration and was pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent, service was top notch and ambiance was amazing!

Chef 'Crazy' really lived up to his name, I don't think I've had a culinary experience as...unique as Chef Crazy serving sushi in between his fingers and dancing towards you. It definitely made for a memorable Omakase experience.

For a 20 course meal, the pricing's considered affordable as we walked away feeling full. Asides from putting on an eccentric show, you can tell that the chefs are extremely passionate about food. Each dish is given a quick and short description and presented with flair.

On top of your standard fare of fresh and unique seafood, quite a few dishes experimented with taste, flavours and textures that made for a delightful dining experience.

My personal favourite was the handmade tofu dish. Normally, I'm not a big tofu person but their tofu's consistency was like that of cheesecake, extremely smooth, dense and silky. Paired with a slice of fresh & tangy tomato, ending with leaves of spicy wasabi, it was a fun rollercoaster of a dish.

I'd also like to higlight one of the staff, Michael, who was extremely accomodating and knowledgeable, and even provided us with a quick history lesson of traditional vs new omakases.

If there was anything that was a miss, I'd say it'd be the dessert. After highs of each dish, the ice-cream and mochi felt a little subpar in comparison. The staff did dance and sing for myself and other birthday celebrators there, which was nice!

Overall 10/10, would let partner burn a hole in his...

@sushinosuke.my (no pork) - this is one of the best and most worth it omakase spot I’ve ever tried. This place checked ✅ all the boxes in terms of price, quality, freshness, service and ambiance.

I must commend the freshness of the sashimi, fishiness doesn’t exist here.

Sushi Chef: Tominaga Mitsuhiro definitely displayed great skills & service, I love that he showed me what fish I’m eating using a ready booklet ☺️.

Here’s the Lunch Omakase Set (RM188++ per pax) and it’s only available on the weekends:

Seaweed - A refreshing appetiser, with a good amount of fine crunch and bite. ✨ Japanese Amberjack - ✨ Swordfish - ✨ Tuna (back portion) - ✨ Chawanmuchi with Uni - ✨ I can actually taste the fresh briney flavour of the uni. Scallop - ✨ Engawa bowl - ✨ Assorted pickles - I had wasabi roots (and oooh it’s spicy!) ✨ Striped Jack - ✨ Chutoro / fatty tuna - ✨ Unagi Temaki - ✨ Creamy Egg - ✨ Miso soup - ✨ Matcha Ice Cream - ✨

As you can see, everything gets a ✨ and it was 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨💯💯💯! I would for sure visit again.

Refillable iced green tea RM8.

Booking is a must, head to @sushinosuke.my to place your booking.
