don’t get ripped off
This place is packed with people during any given weekday lunch hour.
The mee pok is ok. But nothing to shout about. You can get something similar or even better at some kopitiam that cost slightly cheaper. The portion for a large bowl of noodle (RM11) is quite small.
I’m giving 2 star because the bun with kaya and butter cost RM3.50! I could easily buy these buns and make my own at home! Just because they use these type of buns doesn’t mean it is better than the regular ones. In my opinion, the regular toast you have at a regular restaurant is way better than this “fancy” but overpriced bun!
The tea is watery, another 2 star for this. It doesn’t have that aroma of a tea and not much milk in it. I wouldn’t even call it a milk tea, let alone a “hainan tea”!!!
Lastly, they charge 50sen for plastic bags for takeaway! My friends are shocked at the bill! Because we takeaway quite a fair bit and the plastic alone cost around RM4!!!
They’re not suppose to take profit from the plastic bag if I’m not mistaken. It should be given back to the government.
This alone warrant my rating of 2 star as a consumer. Let’s not forget they also charge 6% which I think it is fine. But the plastic bag and the overpriced and overrated...

We had our leisurely breakfast. Our first visit after my wife retired from her teaching post since in August.
Sun 20 Nov 2022. We decided to celebrate post-GE-15 day breakfast here. We decided to try the signature fried porridge and a cup of cham si or mixed coffee and tea milk tea. Sun 13 Nov 2022 We came here for a relaxing Sunday breakfast. The place is busy and crowded again. We shared a glass of hot Hainanese tea as Milo kosong is not available here. Both of us ordered the signature dried mee pok set meal served with sliced fish cake and a piquant homemade chilli sauce. We also tapau some meals and snacks for the rest of the day and beyond.
One of my cikgu colleagues recommended this eatery in SS2, famed for its signature Mee Pok. We decided to propped by the spot for breakfast. We reached the venue at about 8 a.m. Plenty of parking bays were available. We ordered the signature dish set and several meals for takeaway. The place is cosy with semi-traditionaltional decor. The service is fast and courteous. The owner told us the place will be crowded later, for...
Read moreAn old school like Chinese Restaurant with an aged old sign indoor "The Original Mee Pok". Their Signature number 1 item in the menu "Tang Pin Mee Pok" lives up to its name. The oil use in the dry noodle is surprisingly tasty and they do not flood it, it just sufficiently coats the noodle without leaving extra oil around hence the whole noodle is not oily at all and the mixed meat that goes with it is of the right taste and texture making it s perfect fit. They also provide a few slices of fish cake in tasty soup that complements the whole Mee Pok taste and experience (best eaten with their chilli sauce that complements as well). The small & big portion is the same price so you can enjoy sufficiently without going over. Well done indeed, is far the best whole noodle experience vs and other noodle shop. Newly added in their menu is Nasi Lemak & Nasi Kerabu. Etheir ABC is below average and is without peanuts & slightly less corn. They have both indoor (air con) & outdoor seating. They have clean toilet (another...
