I ended up visiting this joint as I asked Google for the top rated restaurant in ss2 and this place popped up. So I thought heck, let's try it.
Since it's cmco, thought it'd be better if I just take away the pizza. Came across the half and half pizza with chicken wings, garlic twist? And a drink at rm43. So I ordered half beef pepperoni and spicy chicken on their normal crust.
Went home, opened the pizza and the first thing I tried was the garlic twist bread thing. To put it simply, if you ever had a yao char kuai that had been out for too long, that's exactly what you're getting. Tough, hard to bite and lots of biting and pulling to tear it apart. But If you're really hungry and have strong teeth, I'm sure you wouldn't mind. So me and the wife scrapped that plan and looked to the promising chicken wings.
The color was somewhat tempting, a fair bit of bbq sauce generously spread on it with that slight hint of oil that makes it look delicious... But to our disappointment, the taste did not match its look. I mean its not bad, but definitely not worth a 4 or 5 star.
So now on to the pizza which everyone seems to rave about. The amount of beef pepperoni was comparable to what domino's gives with maybe 10% more slices but if I'd close my eyes and ate this pizza at domino's, I would think that it did come from dominos indeed. No deciding factor there. And so the spicy chicken had to be the one that saves the day right? Wrong! Spicy chicken pizza was covered with pineapples and onions and green pepper. I mean like pineapples?! The description was somewhat deceptive. Spicy chicken would make you think of maybe something which would take your tongue for a joyride, but instead, all your tongue does it to look for a way around the pineapples.
So, I rate this place 3 stars as it is truly just average with a higher price tag. Will I ever voluntarily go back? Most likely not as SS 2 has so much better...
Read moreI tried to pass judgement on this place because I don't really like writing negative reviews. Based on my 2 interactions with this place it feels like now I have too. But I will still start with positives.
In general I like US Pizza, in my opinion their food is far more superior than Pizza hut or Domino's. This store I visited is clean.
Today I went in with a to go order. It was a bit difficult ordering because the counter was not well lit which made reading the menu a bit hard. The guy on the counter was difficult to understand because the music was blasting so loud, add to it the muffled voice because of the mask(not his fault SOP, they did have control of the music though).
Got my order in, sat down to wait, staff member approaches me offering free pizza. I said what do I have to do? He asks me where my phone was. My shorts didn't have pockets so it was left in the car. Took my phone went back to the store. The guy was directing me to google maps then he coaxed me for a five star rating. OK, not gonna happen. You can't buy me with a free banana pizza!
This interaction happened 3-4 weeks ago. I placed an order online for self collect. In their website there is a collection time. Picked one, checked out, payed for the food. Our place is about 10-15mins away from this store, so if picked 2:15pm I'd be there 5 mins early or on time. Now I know the parking situation in the area so I left early to collect my order. I got to the store and received my order. When I checked on it, it looked like the pizza has been sitting in the box for an hour. The box was wet and crumbling, pizza it self was cold and soggy. The guy in the counter didn't want to do anything about it. I couldn't do anything about it other than take the food because I already payed for it.
Now tell me is a free banana pizza going...
Read morei suspect all the 5 star reviews here are FAKE just like the positive reviews beautifully posted by your favourite 'influencers'. They paid or gave away enough freebies inexchange for exaggerated videos and artificial reviews to lure the general public in. The brand is Malaysian and there is NOTHING U.S. or stars & stripes about it including the taste. We went direct to shop. With MCO3 queues, the cashier warned us the order will take 1 hour before taking our order/money. At least good customer service. *The menu states free pizza if it doesnt come within 15minutes i think but its pandemic time so we're forgiving. Ordered 2 regular pizzas for RM41+ (instead of ordering 1 large which cost a few cents more). Chose what a regular American might choose, the classic hawaiian/aloha and peperoni - 2 of the most basic pizzas that a real american pizza joint should NOT get wrong. The pizzas were edible but awfully bland tasting. Its so poor in its North American representation we wished we could return them and get our money back. Both pizzas were too dry. Not enough tomato paste. Cheese was minimal (unlike those exaggerated videos/images postings). Bread was chewy and toppings size were ok. If you want a US-style pizza don't bother trying US Pizza (even if someone says they will treat you - use their money elsewhere!) .. stick with your favourite pizza delivery or visit your preferred...
