A Disappointing Experience with Noticeable Disparity
My recent visit to this restaurant was unfortunately a letdown, and I've provided a breakdown of my experience below. I was particularly disappointed with the service, atmosphere, and overall value for money.
Atmosphere and Service: The most significant issue was the clear disparity between members and non-members. It seems that paying customers who are not members are treated differently. For example, the restrooms available to non-members were unclean and in poor condition, a stark contrast to the facilities available inside the house for members. The policy regarding alcohol service was also confusing and, frankly, felt discriminatory. We were initially told that no alcohol was served, yet we observed staff serving beer to members. This created a sense of exclusion and was off-putting, especially since we were willing to pay for these items. It's a curious business decision to turn away potential revenue from paying customers.
Food Quality and Value: For the price point, the quality of the food was consistently mediocre or below average. The chicken was uninspired, and the Goat Liver Chettinad had an unpleasant, old smell and was very dry. I was especially disappointed with the Lamprais (RM30+), which was the primary reason for my return visit. The quality has significantly declined since my last experience in 2021. The portion sizes have been reduced (with the exception of the rice), and the quality of the other components was poor. For instance, the fish cutlet was minuscule (same size with Saravana Bhavan’s Mini Idly), the mutton was sparse, and the chicken was diced into small pieces. It appeared that an excessive amount of vegetables was added to give the impression of a fuller portion.
Overall Value: Ultimately, the experience did not justify the cost. The combination of the high prices, subpar food quality, and the discriminatory treatment between members and non-members left me with a feeling of regret. I would suggest that the establishment clearly communicate the benefits and limitations for members versus non-members to manage customer expectations and avoid this type of disappointment. I had been swayed by glowing reviews on social media, but my visit confirmed that for non-members, this is not a worthy venture. It seems the true value here lies not in the food or the service, but in the exclusive "ego boost" reserved for a select few.
Overall Comment : (Stressing on this again) This two-tiered system extended to the service itself. We were informed that no alcohol was served, a claim that was quickly disproven when we observed beer being served to members. It was a curious display of priorities—a seeming unwillingness to accommodate paying customers while catering exclusively to a select group.
Ego Trip and Boost for members (Discrimination was felt). My mistake for trusting this...

Read moreWell we just had our meetup up to 20 people with the prior reservation. Something I want to highlight here.
1- parking - they have members and non members when I ask they told. Only politician and members from UM will allowed to use the designated parking other need to park down. What a discrimination.
2- food - I was really expecting a Sri Lankan food but with a disappointed especially the fish cutlet and pakora not even a worth. I like the payaa curry but some of my friends got some stomach upset due to doctor feedback the food is not fresh.
3- Ambience cmon we are paying almsot 500rm above for the dinner don’t we have a faculty to use washroom inside. We need to use the washroom outside and it’s very scare during the night. Especially the girls.
4- service - I won’t say it’s the best and I won’t say it’s worst an average one. Cos all of them are foreign workers especially from Bangladesh so their communication we cannot except much. But I saw one big cockroach in the table running. Well can’t complain cos it’s under a forest. Things normal. Hope it won’t fall in food. Who knows in kitchen.
On the whole what I say. We felt a bit discrimination on the members and non members. And it’s not that much hype giving in TikTok and other social media. Many of my friends felt not a good spot. Not recommended for...
