A neighbourhood restaurant

I've always noticed this particular restaurant everytime I go to Damansara Jaya area but I have never thought of coming here for a meal, until I ran out of idea on dining place one fine weekend. It is quite packed especially on weekend so in order to avoid waiting for tables, I called in advance to book a table.

A typical Chinese restaurant settings with pictures (with description) of available dishes printed on the wall to make ordering easier. ◾ Steamed estuary grouper - brought my own fish to be cooked (of course with charges) and they did it competently. ◾ Buttermilk deep fried squid - overdone resulting in chewy and rubbery texture and it didn't help that the sauce was barely enough to cover the squid. Flavour-wise it was OK ◾ Marmite pork ribs smeared with sesame seeds - kid's favourite ◾ Stir fried kangkung ◾ Braised homemade taufu

Overall, I found that the cooking was average without any wow factor. The only upside is that the price was quite affordable and portion was...

This was the worst Chinese restaurant I have been to.

  1. very pricey, a vege dish is rm22 (portions are not huge), brinjal dish also cost rm30
  2. food are bland. If you are into less salt less sugar less taste then yes, this place is for you. 3)no specialty. We ordered a few of the recommended dishes, and not one left a good impression/make me want to return for more. I'm struggling trying to remember what was nice..
  3. ambiance- I didn't expect like a high standard Chinese restaurant, but man, this place was rather stuffy. When we asked, the owner said the fan speed of the aircond was already at its maximum. The only saving grace was the rather friendly female lady boss. My advice: there are many other nicer and cheaper Chinese...

I’ve been a regular at this restaurant for years, and it continues to impress with its consistently tasty food. No matter what I order, the quality never disappoints, which is why I keep coming back. Service is fast and efficient, making it a reliable spot for a quick yet satisfying meal.

The atmosphere is typical and old-fashioned, which adds a nostalgic charm, though it does come with a slight musky smell, especially if you visit early before the air-conditioning is fully on. Still, once the place cools down, it’s comfortable enough.

For the flavor and consistency alone, it’s absolutely worth recommending. A dependable neighborhood gem that delivers what it promises—great...

So, family & friends have been dining here for years...too long to recall. Past 1-2yrs food quality on a decline & previous visit, provided them some feedback but weren't happy to hear. Today, had these signature dishes...extremely disappointing. Cantonese fried kuey teow w fish slice..fish very fishy, overcooked & fish portion reduced by some 50-60% , gravy heavily ladened w MSG & vege too old. Spring chicken was very obviously days old, tough & dry texture told us they were steamed/boiled, frozen, defrosted & reheated. If fresh, steamed chicken doesn't require salty deep fried shallot soy gravy to swim in. Verdict: Never to dine again.
