A must-go place whenever I'm craving fried chicken in Kuching. The chicken here is exceptionally crispy on the outside while staying juicy and tender on the inside. If you're a fan of chicken thighs, be sure to order the special. The rice is perfectly cooked - not too oily, just right. The spicy soup adds a nice kick, and the special sauces are a great blend of sweet and spicy, perfectly suiting my taste. The fried chicken wings and the chicken Parson's nose (chicken butt) are also must-tries. They're absolutely delicious. The fried chicken is definitely the star of the menu at this shop. However, the shop itself is quite narrow, and it can be a bit challenging to find a table during peak hours.

Highly recommended by a local friend. Convinced that this is a must try, walked in despite having had dinner just 2 mins ago a mere few steps away. We could only order their steamed chicken as the fried ones been sold out. Drumsticks only, by the way. Chicken was tender, succulent and had a faint pleasant scent (I reckon it's the bred of bird used locally). The soya dressing perked it up with salty hits. A fiery chilli sauce added that final punch. Need to come back for fried chicken!

Aladin Cafe is well-known for its Fried Chicken Rice, and while the taste is acceptable, the pricing feels a bit steep for what’s offered. At this price point, you’d expect a more generous portion and a bit more quality in the food. Additionally, there’s room for improvement in terms of cleanliness, which would make the dining experience more enjoyable. Overall, it’s worth a try if you’re curious, but the value for money could certainly be better.

Early morning we head out to Carpenter Street, Kuching's chinatown and gave Aladdin Cafe a try for local breakfast. We ordered the typical: Kolo Mee, Sarawak Laksa and Seafood Mee.

The is my very first time trying out Kolo Mee and Sarawak Laksa, and honestly I am a bit underwhelmed. I am not certain if this is because of the food in this cafe, or generally it is what those dishes normally taste like, but I guess my palette required something with more punch. I did find the dish a little tasteless.

Otherwise, they do have a good selection of local dishes and the service was super friendly, being locals. It is also has very old school charm, as if from a...

Boss and assistant is very friendly. Steam and roasted chicken is ok. However, their Fried Chicken is fantastic. It goes very well with their sauce. It’s a must-try. 👍🏻 After my meal, I just feel that it wasn’t enough so I ordered another Fried Chicken to take away @ MYR 12.50. Reasonable price since it was a full wing to thigh part (Almost similar to 1/4 chicken)

They opens at 12.30pm and can allow customers to wait in the cafe from 12pm onwards. However, cafe is not very well ventilated, aircon is not working, fan is not cooling enough, and the weather outside is scorching🥵. Couldn’t fully...
