Honestly this place is a hit and miss. Location wise, FANTASTIC. It’s right smack in the middle of Kuching Waterfront/Pasar. Walking distance to all the main touristy picture spots. However, it’s dated and it’s obvious. First of all, the basement carpark is scary af. Although well lit, there were lack of CCTVs around. Entrance to the lobby from the basement parking has huge signs but the stairwell and closed unlabelled doors are just sketchy, and stairs reeked of cigarettes and cockroach smell. I had to carry my luggage up some stairs going to the lobby, passing by some hotel staff but no one offered assistance even when seeing me, a petite girl basically struggling, sweating and dragging a luggage up those narrow, cockroach scented staircase. They could have at least helped opened the door 🤦🏻‍♀️ Check in/out procedures take sooo long. And receptionists only communicate when needed, no sense of warm welcome just there to convey instructions. Concierge team was fantastic though, always smiling and friendly. My room was on a high floor so it was quiet and private. Floors are carpeted and there were lack of power plugs, some were not functioning either, and plugs near the bed was nonexistent. Walls are super thin, i can quite literally hear the housekeeping team listening to Hindi music while they do the cleaning in the next room. Cleanliness wise room was generally clean, bed/pillows feel comfortable and sheets and towels were fresh from the laundry. The shower space seemed like it had been recently renovated but vanity and sink remained same as the room, a bit dated. Anyways I would probably reconsider staying here if it was for a longer trip, but for a 2N stay it was more than accommodating for me.

This is a good location to stay in Kuching. It is within walking distance to the waterfront and old shops along the waterfront. There are plenty of eateries around. Closest mall is Merdeka plaza which was about 10 minutes walk. Review for room 504. The room is a standard double bed with a window overlooking the waterfront. As long as there's a window, you will feel comfortable even if the room isn't spacious. The window insulation isn't good becos you can hear loud noise from the vehicles outside especially at night even at 5th floor. Air-conditioning in room 504 needs maintenance. The temperature at 16 degrees is just like when you set st 28 degrees. The water cubicle is on your right when you enter the room. It is clean but no bath, just shower. Water pressure is excellent. On the left is the wardrobe and a little kitchenette. There is a safe inside the wardrobe, it lite up when you open the right door. There is a small fridge, complementary packet coffee, tea (2 packets each) and 2 bottles of drinking water (500ml) and an electric jug to boil water. House keeping service is good. I think they tidy up guest room every morning at around 8am. The hotel has a restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall stay experience was good. Wifi signal is good. Recommend to those looking for a budget and comfortable stay in Kuching.

Harbour View Hotel is located on Temple Street and is within walking distance of the Kuching Waterfront. The check-in process was below expectations; the front desk staff did not smile or explain the breakfast details, such as the location and serving time. The room was basic, featuring a TV and fridge. The air conditioning was noisy but manageable, and we were too tired to be bothered by the sound. Breakfast is served at a café beside the lobby, with a limited but sufficient menu including fried noodles, bread, cereal, fruits, and an egg station. However, the menu is almost the same every day, and some fried items like samosas and chicken nuggets were served cold. Parking is limited in the hotel basement, and if full, guests must park around the nearby shops. Overall, the hotel’s best feature is its location near the waterfront and local attractions, with many dining options within walking distance. Despite the check-in issues, the overall experience was pleasant, thanks to the courteous hotel staff, including guards, doormen, and café staff.

I checked in and they asked for RM50 deposit. Once the receptionist ask for it, she proceed to do her work without looking at me and so I QR the deposit. It took her quite some time to finish the receipt and then she look at my QR receipt before saying "ohno, we don't accept deposit using QR. Must be cash". Which she didn't say anything about it before! And proceed to say "usually deposit memang cash la kan" with blamming tone and a side eye. Other hotel i went give option for money transfer as well! SO NO! I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THEIR HOTEL ONLY ACCEPT CASH. Afterward I ask about the parking and she simply said "park at basement". And I go park in the basement as instructed. When I want to get out, suddenly the screen shows that I have to pay RM15. So i went to the receptionist and politely ask whats going on. She asked if I have register the car plate, and I said no cause the previous receptionist never ask for it. She said "oh no wonder la" with annoyed face. Usually other hotel will ask the guest if we have car and if yes, they immediately register the car. BUT NOT THIS HOTEL! Once I give the car details, she said ok. So I ask her again if we can go out now. And she cynically said "ha,yes go out la".

Their hotel is good for the price, but the receptionist is really terrible. The first receptionist name Audrey and the other one I didnt catch her name but she wear glasses.

Even their manager is not friendly. She was talking in a strict voice to a guest. She talk regarding my claim for the deposit. They request me to go back to lobby after 5 minutes I finish checkin cause they need my ID and bank details. Asking me to screenshot my bank details which obviously cannot be done due to privacy reason. Keep saying " can can. Try it". Gosh! Train your receptionist team properly please

Another thing is, their basement close after 12am! What a curfew in a hotel?! And the basement has shitty smells...
