Cafe Cafe at Jalan Song — Restaurant in Sarawak

We went there for a farewell party with package food choice instead of ala carte, RM20 per head for 5 dishes, free flow of ice honey lemon drink and one scoop of ice cream. The food was overall on a sweeter side, not spicy, suitable for children and portion size quite big. However nothing stand out much beside being affordable price for the package food. The pineapple rice and mamak mee goreng doesn't have any 'wokhey'; the pineapple was not ripe well, sour taste; the chicken was hard outside, boneless; the fish had more flour than the fish itself, not crispy and very chewy due to heavy flour. The best and well balance of spicy dish was the okra.

Ambience and service were great. The only things is that the toilet is not inside the cafe. You need go outside, the beside building, climb up one level staircase for the washroom. Direction for toilet was shown clearly in...

Chill environment and it’s a best place to hang out with family or friends. The food portion was quite big, best to be sharing. Ordered the local Foo Chow dish - Chou Chai Big Bee Hon Soup with Prawns and Claypot Kuey Teow with beef. First time tried the Chou Chai Big Bee Hon Soup with prawn, taste was good, combination of savory taste with sour taste makes it a great dish to trigger appetite. Have the black fungus adding crunchiness experience. Prawn used was fresh water prawn and its fresh. Claypot Kuey Teow with beef was another good dish too, although the black pepper was abit heavy overall it is good. Love the food served while it was piping hot. Price for the portion...

Our first visit, came because of the high rating. We ordered spaghetti marinara, grilled lamb chop and cream of mushroom soup.

Firstly, food is overloaded with sodium. Cream of mushroom taste like it’s poured from the can, spaghetti marinara is a shame, it tasted like sardines and it’s super creamy, their interpretation of seafood is crab stick and shrimps, pathetic!

Lamb chop is very salty and the chef is too heavy handed with rosemary, terrible!

Overall a very disappointing meal and totally undeserved for the rating and it’s price
