Shichimi Ramen — Restaurant in Sarawak

Starting with the pros, this is a relatively cheap ramen joint with fast service and reasonably decent food. The standout was the chicken “chashu,” which was actually chargrilled chicken with an incredible “wok hei” flavor. There’s even a seating counter in the front like a typical ramen bar in Japan. Unfortunately, the ramen is not as authentic as I expected it to be. Understandably, they serve chicken paitan ramen, which can actually be pretty flavorful if cooked right. Here, the paitan broth was flavorful but did not have the deep umami flavors that are present in authentic ramen. The noodles themselves were slightly too hard, probably not due to the cooking duration but the ingredients used in it. Sushi - the best out of all food for me here. Price can be vary. (4.5/5)

Chicken Gyoza - quite pricey for nearly RM 12 for 5 pcs. The taste is nice, with or without the sauce. Just the price is the let down. Taste wise: (4.5/5), but inc the price: (3.5/5)

Peach tea - it's ok, just a usual peach tea. Refreshing. (4/5)

Spicy Chicken Ramen - might be a let down for me. I order spicy ramen expecting to be atleast moderate spicy, but it wasnt spicy at all. I'm not asking like level 4/5 spicy, I was expecting like atleast level 1/2 spicy, but yeah, it was just a normal ramen for me. (3/5)

Service - good, quite fast!! However, I wish the provide paper towel / tissue for the customers - need to get tissue literally at the other side of the food court

Atmosphere - well it's located at the food court, noisy but atleast many tables....

the ramen was soooo good. but for me personally its a bit salty, dont worry tho, they provide hot water for you to add in, in case its too salty for u. i ordered kimchi. my oh my its good 😍 its the best of all kimchi i ever tested. my friend ordered karage and the portion is A-LOT♥️ the chicken too. but i would love if they reduce salt in the chicken 🥰 overall ill rate 4.8 for this. tho u must order on the screen at the counter yr self, that lead to my own mistake because idk which one it is ( i wanted spicy but i got paitan. it showed in my...
