Dear Subway Plaza Merdeka,
I hope this message finds you well. I would like to share some feedback regarding an experience my wife and I had at your Subway outlet on 20th April 2025, around 1:45 PM.
When we arrived at the counter to place our order, the staff on duty appeared to notice us but did not immediately acknowledge our presence. My wife tried to greet her a few times by saying “Hello,” but there was no response. The staff continued washing and drying her hands, which left us unsure whether she had heard us.
After a short moment, she turned and made eye contact. My wife began to place our order, but the staff turned away again to put on gloves without any verbal response. While we were choosing our ingredients—some of which were unavailable—she remarked, "out of stock" with a tone and body language that came across as rather impatient, which made us feel a little uncomfortable.
Despite this, my wife continued patiently. However, as we were selecting the second sandwich, the staff member suddenly went into the kitchen without any explanation, leaving us standing at the counter unattended and unsure of what was happening.
While waiting, we also noticed flies crawling on the cutting board, and with no staff present and food items left exposed, we began to feel uneasy about the hygiene of the preparation area. Due to these concerns, we decided to walk away without completing our order.
We understand that staff may be handling multiple tasks and that things can get busy, but some basic communication and attention to cleanliness would have gone a long way in making the experience more comfortable. We’re sharing this feedback in the hope that it can contribute to service and hygiene improvements at the outlet.
Thank you for taking the time to consider...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this outlet.
First, I stood for more than 5 minutes without being attended by any staff. When they finally did, the staff were rude and continued talking about personal matters while serving customers. This is unprofessional and not the right attitude for customer service.
I paid RM18 for a Spicy Mayo Salad Bowl and received only 6 small chunks of chicken. Honestly, is this worth the price? On top of that, when I requested more sauce, I was told about so many SOPs.. cannot this, cannot that. They only drizzled a tiny amount of mayo (even after I asked for extra twice), and it was still not enough for a salad. Tell me, who eats salad without proper sauce? A salad without enough dressing is simply not enjoyable.
This outlet is definitely not a good place to go. Please avoid, especially given the unfriendly staff attitude. I hope Subway management takes serious action on this matter. While writing this, I also read other reviews and noticed many customers have had bad experiences with the staff at this outlet. My question is: why hasn’t Subway management done...
Read moreThe first Subway outlet in Sarawak back in 2016, I always come to this outlet to eat their sandwich since at that was the only outlet in Kuching. It’s been years since I’ve last ate a Subway sandwich, so I decided to come back and eat their sandwich since they’re no other restaurant in Plaza Merdeka to pick. 🤔🤔🤔
Usually whenever I come to Subway, I would always ask for create your own sandwich options which I always did whenever I come to Subway. 😆😆🥪🥪 Did you know you can request the staff to pick your own options for your sandwich other than ordering the one from the menu. 😁😁😁 For drinks, you can pick either cup (which you need to refill yourself since you paid for the drink) or bottled drinks. 🥤🥤🥤 I always enjoy the treats of cookies after eating the sandwich, cause after the main course, you can eat dessert in the old western ways. 😋😋😋
For me, I prefer going to Plaza Merdeka branch because I always used to go there when I was young. 😁😁😁 Like it’s literally the best sandwich franchise ever, you can’t even hate it if you try it ones....
