Miserable location for food/seafood. Not even sure why this place frequently appears as a recommended spot by food bloggers and travel sites. Would give it zero stars if I could. Location is pretty obscure and located in a tight alley. The interior of the place is dimly lit, you sit on wooden benches and tables by the river (not much of a view though), and is filled with so many empty liquor bottles that though initially charming, soon genuinely felt like I walked into the home & restaurant of a severe alchoholic. We ordered only 3 things and was severely let down by 2 out of the 3 and unimpressed by the third: Fried noodles, sotong (squid), and lala (clams). No siham (blood cockles) available at all even though there are photos of it on their Google Maps.
Do not order their fried noodles - it's an absolute sadness of a dish. Basically instant noodles fried with what felt like yesterday's leftover meat plus a bunch of dark soy sauce. The dish was so utterly sad that I could not bring myself to take a photo of it. I was looking forward to the sotong dish as soon as it was served because the portion that we were served was huge. Unfortunately, I was taken aback as soon as I took my first bite. Or at least, I attempted to bite down but the overcooked fried squid was first of all tasteless, and second of all so tough and rubbery it basically was like eating tasteless rubber tires. Both dishes were straight up inedible.
Lala was probably the only good thing we ate but that's only because the lala is freshly caught, big, and meaty. A lot of the other reviews mention how bland it is because it's true - the restaurant basically just blanched & boiled the lala in hot water with ginger - zero skills required yet here we are paying to dine here. "Light seasoning" is an understatement. I guess if you enjoy a clean, pure and "unobstructed" taste of fresh lala, this would be a perfect spot for you. It was good but unimpressive.
It still baffles me that this is a go-to place to eat. We found this place being recommended a few times on the internet - yet of all the restaurants in this little town, I don't know how this place can exist. Their only saving grace is that they've got access to the freshest seafood. Otherwise, this location is a terrible excuse for a dining establishment. Why even bother to operate a restaurant if you can't be bothered to put in any effort to cook decent food to serve your customers? If you're looking for the so-called "original/pure taste" of fresh seafood, you're still much better off buying raw seafood from one of the many seafood sellers in town and bringing it home to blanch your own.
Other things worth noting: Drinks are self-serve bottles & cans from ice coolers; No rice or other noodle dishes apart from the sole dish of fried instant noodles, so don't come here expecting to eat a fancy or filling meal. Only cash payment accepted. Not worthy of the price at all.
Unfortunately, I do not...

This is my first visit to this riverside seafood stall (not a restaurant ya). Pay attention when you first visit this seafood stall as it is hard to identify. Park your car nearby as there is no parking for you at the riverside.
My overall verdict for this seafood stall are:- Environment ★☆ If you born in big city you better well prepare for the environment! 😁 Having lunch is still alright but having dinner is very challenging ya! 😷 Service Attitude ★★★☆ If you are having meals during the off-peak hour you will be served nicely but if you unfortunately come during the peak hours…I'm sorry that you probably be offended by the lady boss ya. 😯 Food Serve & Quality ★★★☆ Again it's depending on the time if you're coming at off-peak or peak hours. I must warn you that this seafood stall just serve simple cooking style which mainly steam and fried without serving rice but fried noodles with seafood is available although those are instant noodles like makma stall. 😝 Most of the seafood are superb fresh but if you order crabs then here is the challenge…they just steam the whole crabs without properly clean or brush and the worst is you have to clean and clear the inside parts of the crabs. Be careful that you don't want to mistakenly eat the crab's heart and lung ya! 😫 Price Worthy ★★★★ I ordered 2 meat crabs medium small + 16 pieces mantis shrimp + 1/2kg la-la + 1/2kg siham + 10 pieces of big fresh fried fish...
Read moreAs it was a impromptu visit, I didn’t manage to read the google review that was given, I’m regretted, I should read it before I come.
Yes the Seafood is pricey but no doubt the lala is fresh! (However at this era, not hard to get a fresh seafood la!) Menu show to us without price. We thought since is a small village and the menu is very simple plus the seafood is just a normal seafood, we have Ordered a bowl of lala and fried bean curd with 2 drinks but it cost me RM75!! Mamak environment with 5 stars hotel price but the cooking style is simple as it cook with hot water. I don’t even thinking to drink the lala ‘soup’. The do serve alcohol drinks, but I doubt if they have license to sell it. Bear in mind, they didn’t state the price. If u really want to visit, must ask the price first. Limited parking space which we park our car at the road side beside the shop. I not sure if he is the shop owner, he purposely park the motor in front our car and wait for us. He ask for rm5 for the place we parked. After we paid, he only remove the motor, I think we met a samseng there , haha.
We spend total of rm80 for 2 pax to visit this place!
As the conclusion, don’t waste your time to visit this place. Is not hard to get a fresh seafood. They are plenty of fresh...
