Don’t come here if you want bad service. I used to love eating here as well, but the incident happened today makes me wanna write an essay.

When we enter the store, there was no one to entertain us by giving us menu, but I didn’t blame them because there was one menu on the table, but shouldn’t they give another menu to other person, not mentioning the staff has eye contact with me. By the time we order, the staff seems like not familiar with the menu, again I didn’t blame her because she might be new. When the food comes, the server was so lazy to walk to the side of the table that we sit and wanted us to take the food from his hands, I just don’t understand why couldn’t he walk two more steps to our table. The most frustrating part was when I receive my food and can clearly tell that it is not my order, and the server didn’t even bother to listen what I have to say and say that this is the food that I order. I ordered anchovies fried rice but got prawn rice and there was no anchovies in it, and I even dig into the rice to see if I was wrong but turns out it’s just not my order. We asked another staff about the food whether it is anchovies fried rice but he seems like do not understand malay and he just walked away? And for the next five minutes all the staffs in the restaurant were acting busy by walking around the restaurant for nothing and avoid eye contact with us as if we were going to drain their soul. When question the same staff about the food again, he walked away again without giving any explanation. Few minutes later, the first staff comes to my table and place a plate of anchovies without giving any explanation. I was furious but I asked him nicely what kind of fried rice was I having and he replied in a very soft tone and I confused and asked again, and he just don’t bother and walk away in front of my face. I bet this is not the first time he did this because the other staff be telling him to come back and don’t act like that. In the end, I return the food and no one even bother to come and ask me what happened. By the time I pay, the manager (who I didn’t know was there) apologised to me. I just don’t understand why couldn’t he solve the issue just now but chose to stand behind the counter and faking that he’s sorry.

Please avoid this restaurant...

It's not my first time at Homst, but i probably had a so so experience at a different outlet. We decided to give it another shot, and this time around for buka puasa. It was jammed pack but we came around 8.00pm so it was okay. We placed our order and mentally prepared ourselves that the food will be slightly late. The crew were very attentive, worked fast, and did their best to deliver the food ASAP even though we heard that more rice was in demand and they were waiting for the rice to cook. The food selection is so satisfying. Very well organised menu, and they have absolutely almost everything that you want in a Chinese restaurant. We went for seafood and we were not disappointed. Love the butter prawns, not too oily, not too sweet, it was just delicious and fresh. The portion was really good for a regular sized plate, we got a total of 9 large prawns. Next the Kamheong lala. I just love the flavors that pops in, does not overshadowed by the prawns, they just go so well together. The kids had plain omelette and we ordered large, it was very large and delicious. Then for veg, we ordered salted fish baby kailan. You ca actually get the salted fish, it was just on point. Rice was rather small portion, but the quality of rice is really good. Suitable with the Chinese dishes. So even if you are dining with kids, you might want to order rice for each person. Overall, enjoyed our iftar, will be back to try out...

THE SERVICE WAS BAD. I had to give a star to put a review here. Food was okay, you’ll be able to enjoy the okay food as if it’s the best IF they entertain you fairly. Not to even ask a vip treatment, but it’s still so hard to get a normal good service. I called to book not knowing the place was not that packed. Even during phone call they’d be like ā€œhuh???ā€ when it’s hard to hear me. And be like ā€œtak dengar ahhhhh.ā€ That 2 times call almost got to my nerve but I still remain calm. I mean if i can be polite why can’t you? I’m not doing the service to you anyway. The waiters had the same attitude and not even the slightest smile. And to top it all up, the cashier DID NOT SAY ANYTHING. You readers must be wondering how they ask you to pay if they did not say the price. That person just print the receipt, show me, and when i asked things like can pay using card or other stuff, he just nodded or point finger. No thank you, no ā€œmasukkan nombor pin sini yeā€. nothing at all. As if I’m interacting with a robot. I’m so frustrated. I really did like the homst food actually, now I am seriously annoyed. Reading all the reviews got me feeling like please la guys, improve...

I ordered Salted egg chicken rice, and: 1. Tiny portion of tiny chicken pieces compared to other Homst branches. Pic may look big because of close up. 2. Dry, no gravy. I ate at other Homst branches such as Wangsa Maju branch and they do give gravy 3. When I question this, they insisted that I add gravy means, pay about additional rm5+. This is ridiculous! Why do I have to pay extra for something that SHOULD be there? I simply expect chicken with gravy. Not dry chicken! So I had to eat chicken with bare, gravy less rice. The female staffs insisted with a lame excuse that if Salted egg, no gravvy. If butter chicken, got gravvy. What ridiculous excuse is that!!? Homst HQ, please check your Cyberjaya branch about this! I'm a long time Homst fan and I'm very upset about this. I feel ripped off and patronised about something I know. Note: In the meantime, you guys are better off dining at other Homst branches like TTDI and Wangsa Maju.

Ambience 5/10. Food 3/10. Service 2/10. Came in at almost 3pm on a Saturday. Restaurant half empty. Waited for a good 5 minutes before someone came to take order. Food arrived one at a time, and waited for the last dish. After 20 minutes, gestured to one of the cooks (not servers since they just dont care) and he panicly asked some servers to attend to me. Without any smile or apology whatsoever, went to grab the last dish from the kitchen and served to my table. Nonwithstanding that incident, the tofu with crab is tasteless. The salted egg chicken only has 2 drops of egg yolk sauce on the pieces. Only saviour was the egg roll with a unique sauce. Will think hard to come again if they dont improve and I thought Putrajaya branch has service issue. šŸ¤”
