I love the sushi here. Great ambience for family and friends to eat. But need to be very careful especially to Muslim for their menu as some of the dishes contains mirin. I have asked Zanmai Management before and this is their reply on the Halal status. I hope this will helps you choosing the right menu. 😊

SushiZanmai: Dear,

Thank you for your enquiry. Please be informed that our restaurant is not halal due to sake serving. Our meat products are certified as Halal. We order our chicken from Sri Segar Sdn Bhd and our beef from BGS Trading Sdn Bhd. Their products are certified Halal by Jakim. Furthermore, our Australian beef is also Halal certified by Jakim before being allowed to be imported into Malaysia.

Please take note that the following dishes contains mirin: Zanmai Dressing Wafu Dressing Tempura Sauce Ramen Soup Soba Soup Udon Soup Gyoza Sauce Ikura Cawanmushi Teriyaki Steak Sukiyaki Nabe Gyuniku Enoki Roll Kinoko Butter Yaki Yasai Itame Yakiniku Don Ebi Don Salmon Butter Yaki Katsu Don Unatama Don Oyako Don Kimuchi Soup Spicy Ramen Soup

In addition, our sushi rice and soya sauce does not contain mirin or sake.

We help the above helps.

Thank you.

I arrived early for lunch at Sushi Zanmai and the place was empty. But soon after, people strolled in for lunch and the place was packed. All orders are placed via a QR code on the e-menu. The QR code is given by the waiter to be scanned on smart phones. The physical menu book is also given to guests. I addition, the menu is also available online once the QR code is scanned/ activated on the smart phones. I ordered the black pepper spider rolls, costing RM18.68 per plate. I concocted a paste of soy sauce and chilli flakes (available at the table), and dipped the rolls in for a spicy taste. The spider, which is a soft shell crab, is crunchy and tasty, while the white sauce on top of it, is sweet and creamy. Adding on the hot sauce gave it a tangy, great taste. On another roll, I put on a little wasabi on it and, boy, it was pungent and tangy to the taste. My son ordered the Chicken Katsudon at RM12.08 and both of us had Green tea for drinks. I believe that Japanese food is an acquired taste food and some people really indulge in it. And for me, I do enjoy some cooked Japanese-style dishes. The restaurant looks clean and chic, and the ambiance, relax. There are some seating area facing the moving tracks of the food, and that guests can sit alone and have a nice meal here. Parking is available at the parking area in the D'Pulze...

Today evening was with good food with bad experience 😜😢🥺 We had been craving to have japanese food for such a long time during this MCO....take away/ delivery doesn't even come close to the experience of seeing the sushi train going by ur side....Perhaps we were the last entry to the restaurant where the manager readily accepted us at 9.05 pm (we asked twice before going in, if the dine-in is open) and cordially conveyed that we can have food even if the kitchen closes. But it was 9.12 pm when we paid and he announced that the restaurant closes by 9.30 pm so we need to take away our food....WOW...Is this how a restaurant manager is supposed to set up a good evening expectation?....We leave the judgement upon u all...NO DOUBT, this is the best japanese restaurant in the vicinity but they need to seriously LEARN customer friendly behaviour...Govt. policies can't be held responsible for this bad management....Closing time apart but our on-spot feedback doesn't even move a muscle on the manager's face, apologies need a visual as well...BTW this was our 6th visit in last 2 years and 1st post the MCO..... #sushizenmai #postmcomalaysia

1star is only for the manager's behaviour, no complaints on the...

Sushi Zanmai in D’Pulze Mall offers a variety of Japanese dishes, and my recent visit gave me a mixed impression of the dining experience. I started off with the peas as an appetizer, and they were surprisingly fabulous—simple, fresh, and a great way to open the meal. The spicy ramen came next, and I appreciated how it didn’t taste like instant noodles. The broth was warm and comforting, with fresh toppings that complemented it well, although I felt it could use a stronger kick in terms of spiciness to elevate the flavor. The standout dish of the night was undeniably the fried salmon skin. It was perfectly crispy with a good amount of salmon flesh attached, giving it both texture and flavor—a definite highlight. The chawanmushi followed, and it impressed me with its silky smooth egg custard and deep umami taste, showcasing the kitchen’s skill in preparing traditional Japanese comfort food. However, the sushi selection was disappointing. The rice was too mushy and wet, lacking the balance and texture that defines proper sushi rice. I ended the meal with natto, which was pleasantly done. Overall, while some dishes shine, the chain needs improvement, particularly in perfecting their sushi rice.

Sukiyaki or Shabu Shabu hot pot 🍲 at @sushizanmaimalaysia #quaysidemall #malaysia Sukiyaki is a Japanese dish that is prepared and served in the nabemono style. It consists of meat which is slowly cooked or simmered at the table, alongside vegetables and other ingredients, in a shallow iron pot in a mixture of soy sauce abs sugar. By mixing the egg in, you will get a ticker broth and it does added some savouriness in it. On vegetables, they have leek, cabbage, mushroom, lettuce, white onion , and tofu. The sliced of beef is then “shabu-shabu” meaning “swish swish”, which describes the light swishing of the meat in the simmering broth 🤩 Eventually😋, you will get a bowl of hot and warm delicious soup 🍲. **Pictures was taken prior to MCO #sukiyaki #beef #nabe #hotpot #bestoftheday #klfoodie #klnow #bbcfood #foodinsider #eater #tasty #cafehoppingmalaysia #mycafefood #buzzfeedfood #netflixfood #eatnowkl #bestfoodfeed #worthit
