得庄火锅店 2（招牌猪肚火锅汤）MMJ Steamboat 2 — Restaurant in Shah Alam

We live nearby and were invited by our local friend to eat here. We came on a weekday for early dinner and it worked well that this place is open early and not crowded. Staff and boss are all very friendly and approachable. Food is mostly fresh, reasonably priced, reasonable portions (we're not big eaters) and plenty of selection with english and chinese descriptions. The QR code for ordering also worked very well with the search function so we didn't need to scroll up/down looking for things. The physical menu is very user friendly because it's not pages and pages long. The soup (clear/fish head) is nicely balanced and not over-seasoned. The bonus part is that this is a big place with big tables and aircon so it's a good atmosphere for dining with big extended family with kids without getting rushed to leave after finishing our meal. Large floor space between tables so kids can move around a little bit. Also a bonus is additional ala-carte food items that is not hotpot for those (eg the kids) who don't want to be part of the hotpot party or don't want the full hotpot offering. To me it's a bit too salty, but the pig maw soup was quite good. If the taste of pepper can be more automatic would had been a big bonus. They charge us for soup. We ordered the 3-4 pax set w half original/half pig maw soup without the maw stripes, total to 69.90+5.9(half pot Ori soup)+11.90(half pot peppery pig maw soup without maw stripes). Turns out the maw stripes came with the set we ordered. There were only 6 PCs of fish balls in the set we ordered. Majority of the set plate were white cabbage. We left the restaurant...

They have different soup base, the famous one is pork black pepper, you can order set meal or all by ala carte. The food is fresh, seafood balls and vege are all fresh. The freshness of the food make me think of HDL. You may go have a try. Restaurant is clean, but the worker are not much, when we having meal the restaurant no full house.
