Wong Solo @Shah Alam — Restaurant in Shah Alam

It was almost 3pm when I reached Wong Solo and wanted some lunch. The place was packed to the brim and luckily we found a vacant table near the preparation area of Wong Solo. Other that the ordinary tables and chairs, sitting down area is available, too. The place is spacious and decorations is at the minimum. I ordered the Ayam Penyet and Wortel Susu cold drinks while my son had the Ayam Penyet, too with cold Air Bandung. The plate of Ayam Penyet comes with a slice of cucumber, a piece of salad, chilli paste fried brinjals, fried Tempe and tofu, with rice. Actually, it is a whole meal needed for lunch. For added spiciness, there are two types of hot sauce on the table. It was one of the best Ayam Penyet that I have ever tasted. The place is also open during the fasting month and advanced booking and order are available. The drinks are thirst quenchers and taste fantastic with the right amount of sweetness and taste. Located at section 7, Shah Alam. Nearby to Petronas Station, Jakel and Uitm. I came in around 1pm with family. Place was almost full when we arrived. Ordered for 2 ayam penyet kampung set and 1 normal ayam penyet set. 2 manggo juice and 1 ice tea. Accidentally added 2 orange juice and it couldn’t be changed. Total was almost 80 ringgit.

What came was 2 ayam kampung penyet set and another was just ayam penyet kampung without rice. They messed up my order! I don’t eat ayam kampung, so I took back the ayam back for my maid. I ordered nasi goreng seafood instead.

My honest review is the food taste bland, chilli sambal was rough and not tasty (according to my Indonesia maid). The chicken looks like a baby chicken and dry. We did not enjoy them. The staffs are not friendly. Even the cashier do not smile. I don’t like the atmosphere here. We did not feel comfortable. The only positive side is… it is quite clean...

I’ve been a loyal customer for many years, and I’ve always appreciated your food and service. But I had a really frustrating experience tonight that I feel needs to be shared.

I understand your outlet closes at 10pm, with last call at 9.30pm. I arrived exactly at 9.30pm, but the staff and your PIC refused to take my takeaway order. I was told they follow the time on their phone, even though the store signage clearly shows 9.30pm as the last call which I was on time for. (Before I snap the pic)

It felt like they were more eager to close early than serve a customer who made the effort to come on time. I understand staff may want to finish up, but this is not the right way to treat loyal customers.

Really hope you can look into this. Consistency in your service and respect for your customers’...
