First of all, I am not a fan of DimSum, however I did visit several hundred-years history DimSum restaurants in Guangzhou 12 years before. I am not a fan of DimSum because I don’t like the presentation of the tiny plates of DimSum. One small tiny plate of DimSum, and the price of it actually can be considered high. For example, the prices of most of the DimSum in this restaurant is RM7.00 nowadays, which I believe that many people will not be able or do not want to order too many plates, as the accumulated total final price can easily reach RM50-RM80. So I encourage DimSum restaurant not to further increase prices. You got to do it differently by reducing the price. Believe this, if you reduce the price of each plate of DimSum to RM6.00 or even RM5.00, you will see more people coming and supporting. Even though many items’ prices have increased, I encourage restaurant owners not to follow, if you able to try your best to maintain the previous prices. You will see the magic of the crowds starts to increase again, once you reduce the prices, rather than increasing the prices. In terms of taste of the DimSum, it is considered ok by local standard. If I were to compare with those famous DimSum restaurants in Guangzhou, our local DimSum restaurants really need to further improve. ...
Read moreI have been visiting this Dim Sum restaurant since I moved to Subang Jaya 18 years ago. This place had always been my number 1 and ONLY choice for dim sum. HOWEVER, the last time I visited about a month ago, their Siew Mai standard has dropped significantly. Previously, For the past 17.5 years, their siew mai had chunks of meat and big prawns. But now, it is like a meat paste siew mai, smooth texture and no prawns/chunks of meat. Really very very disappointed in the change in recipe. But to be fair to them, everything else is still very good. But since I'm a siew mai lover, I refuse to go back to them and have since visited Foo Hing and Jin Xuan several times, fully satisfied with their siew mai and other dishes. Please please go back to your old siew mai recipe. Not here to run them down. Just hope they will go back to their old siew mai recipe. Would have given them 5 stars if they didn't change their siew mai recipe. John, Ah How, Ah Boon, hope you are reading...
Read moreNot your typical old-school dim sum spot, but a rare gem offering a wide variety of decent-quality selections. The pricing is slightly on the higher side, or comparable to the two major brands, but the taste was pleasantly surprising. Although the location isn’t somewhere you’d usually expect to find such a place, it’s a nice discovery for dim sum lovers in the area.
A highlight was the crispy rice roll—crispy on the inside and soft on the inside with a nice texture. I requested cheong fun sambal to pair with it, and they were generous with the portion. A unique touch was the complimentary ice cream, something you rarely find elsewhere.
Service was generally okay, though some staff weren’t very attentive. The total bill came up to just over RM60 for two people, including SST, which made it feel a bit pricey. Also, a few dishes (Fried Beancurd Prawn Roll & Chinese Tea for 2 pax) we tried aren’t mentioned here, so this review doesn’t fully reflect everything...
