Nam Heong Chicken Rice, Main Place Mall — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Hey Solarance again and here I am now after a long workout I decided to have lunch @ Nam Heong Chicken Rice in Mainplace. Well, I defo have a few things to say about the food here so let’s get on it~

1- so I ordered their signature chicken rice “roasted” with a side of tofu soy. I’ll be frank, it’s as what I expected. They didn’t mess up a good chicken rice and I can request a specific part that I prefer which honestly is a nice touch! I hate eating the thighs and drumstick part and I always preferred the breast. Thanks for letting me know that I can choose a part ^^ well.. except the BBQ one.. that you can’t choose a part lol.. though.. one thing I got a bit sad is that I think they missed my soup that should come with my meal since the menu stated I get a soup as a side. So that’s a minus there…

2- the tofu soy is delicious and I finished it all. This I have no complaints 👍🏻

3- the atmosphere is here is super comfy! I love the look of the restaurant! Annndds they put the chili, soy and garlic as condiments on the table so I don’t have to always hound the server just to top up my condiments 👍🏻

4- the servers are quick 👍🏻 the one that tended to me was a lady in tudung and she’s very helpful to me 👍🏻 keep up the good work!

5- price is totally reasonable 👍🏻 not too expensive and the quality is good 👍🏻

Overall, not a bad place.. quite standard for a chicken rice joint.. come again to try the other dishes...

I've been a long-time patron of your establishment and have always enjoyed the roasted chicken rice immensely, not solely because of its Michelin reputation, but due to its consistently high-quality taste.

However, I recently tried the Lao Shu Fen, and regrettably, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I still prefer your egg wanton noodles if I opt for noodles in your restaurant.

I must commend your staff for their exceptional friendliness and helpfulness, providing top-notch service from my initial visit to my most recent one. Every dining experience has been delightful, with prompt food delivery and warm greetings upon arrival and after payment.

My appreciation for the choice of music played during my meals. It's always a pleasant touch and adds to the overall ambiance, which is another delightful aspect of dining at your restaurant.

In all honesty, I've noticed a slight decline in the standard of the roasted chicken rice lately, and I sincerely hope that the quality can be maintained at the level it once was.

Nonetheless, my overall experience remains positive, and I will continue to visit your restaurant whenever I'm in the vicinity...

I ordered 2 sets of the Steamed Kampung Chicken (I wanted normal chicken but they claimed that for steamed chicken, they only use Kampung Chickens) and specifically asked for only thighs. What was served was a drumstick set and a thigh set. When I told them I only wanted thighs, they said they only have one thigh left and that was like before 12 noon, not at the end of the day. I don’t understand how they operate because if they can’t even fulfill customers’ orders so early in the day, how can they do business? Before that, my wife ordered the Iceberg Lettuce but what they delivered was Kailan. Seriously? What kind of service is this? Some more this is supposed to be a Michelin Star Bib Gourmand award place in 2023?? The Steamed Chicken was really substandard and poorly deboned (bits and pieces of the bones were left) and the soup was not tasty at all. Overall, I wouldn’t even give this place 2 stars much less a Michelin Bib Gourmand award at all. So many other places that serve much better Chicken Rice like Spa Chicken, for example, which is cheaper and has much smoother and tasty...
