A classmate brought me to this restaurant saying the long queue here is normal, and is recognised in Subang Jaya for its fame which is its RM1 "nasi lemak" which brings nostalgic memories to many, of the good old days of warm fluffy coconut milk flavoured rice with an extremely generous dash of spicy-sweet sambal & anchovies, wrapped in banana leaf & paper, with a tiny slice of hard boiled egg inside. Nothing extraordinary in taste, but the place does emit a nostalgic vibe.

There is also a buffet-like spread of various additional dishes of fried chicken, braised beef, curries, etc to go with the "nasi lemak" as extra add-ons.

The "satay" i.e. skewered BBQ sticks of chicken, beef and lamb, are sold separately, at another stall in the eatery, and has to be separately ordered at the specific stall. The satay is reasonably tasty, but be prepared to wait a while, for the "satay" to be cooked and delivered to your table.

There's also a noodle stall inside the outlet but doesn't appear as popular as the "nasi lemak" &...

yooo ! honeslty the best place to go for some authentic malaysian nasi lemak ! and its only rm 1 per pack ! anddd here's a story about it But the story behind nasi lemak that has been passed around is much simpler. It began in a small village near Malacca where a widow named Mak Kuntum, and her daughter, Seri, resided. After her husband died in a battle, Mak Kuntum had to work as a masseur to earn money for the family (apparently she was really good too!) and so Seri was often left at home to take care of the chores. One day, Seri accidentally spilt coconut milk into the boiling pot of rice and soon the sweet aroma of santan began to fill the whole room. When Mak Kuntum returned home for lunch, she couldn't help but notice the fragrant smell of the rice. Upon tasting it, she was further intrigued and immediately asked her daughter, "Apa kau masak ni, Seri?" (What did you cook, Seri?) To which Seri replied, "Nasi le, Mak!" (Rice, mother!) And from that day on, the coconut milk-infused rice became known...

Dropped by on a whim after a post tuition class drive-by. I have been keeping this place in my mind as a place-to-try for quite some time and never got around to it due to the parking scarcity and the crazy queues at this eatery.

We were fortunate coming in just after the initial round of Sahur breakfast by our fellow Muslim brethren observing the Ramadan period and there were tables and only a short queue on the nasi lemak counter. Oh yes please. The hype lived up to the name and the hot freshly wrapped-in-banana leaf nasi lemak bungkus was beyond expectations despite me coming here after dinner not too long ago. We had seconds if it's any indication of how "sedap" the food here is. The sides taken were a little on the dearer side but so well cooked, you would overlook the outlay.

All in all, highly recommended despite the lack of parking and sitting space depending on your timing coming here. A repeat visit with more friends and family is in order. A wonderful streetside makan...

The very small size pack of Nasi Lemak with Sambal is RM1 but additional of a piece of fried chicken, a little of Sotong, a little of Tempeh (made from fermented soybeans), it cost RM25 PER PERSON. The Nasi Lemak, Sambal and Tempeh were ok but nothing special. Nasi Lemak was WITHOUT cucumber and groundnut but came with a few miserable pieces of Ikan Bilis (anchovy) which were NOT crispy at all and with heads intact. The fried chicken was dry and hard (over cooked!) and tasteless. The Sotong (squid) cooked with strange taste sambal, was too spicy, very tough (over cooked!) and had a hard time chewing it. With this quantity and quality of food, the price is super expensive, not worth it. The side dishes are displayed on open benches, hygiene is questionable. There was no price tag placed next to the foods or anywhere. Cashier don't accept eWallet payment, only by cash or bank account transfer.
