I’ve been visiting Oregi in SS15 since my college days, and it’s amazing to see how this beloved spot has stood the test of time while keeping the food quality top-notch.
Oregi is well-known for its Western and Middle Eastern cuisine, and they also serve great shisha (even though I don’t smoke, I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere).
This visit, I ordered their Carbonara, Mushroom Chicken Chop, Momo Fries, and Lamb Rice. Every dish was mad delicious!
Carbonara: Hands down the best I’ve ever had — even compared to more upscale establishments. Creamy, perfectly balanced, and indulgent. If you have a big appetite, get the large size because it's HUMONGOUS!
Mushroom Chicken Chop: Juicy, tender chicken with a flavorful mushroom sauce that hits all the right notes.
Momo Fries: A unique, must-try dish — a creative mix of mashed potatoes and fries, topped with savory gravy and beef bacon bits. Comfort food at its finest.
Lamb Rice: Fragrant, well-seasoned, with tender, fall-apart lamb that’s packed with flavor.
Overall, Oregi remains a gem of SS15 — a place that carries nostalgia yet consistently delivers on taste. I highly recommend it to anyone craving hearty, flavorful meals, and I truly hope to see this establishment continue to prosper for...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this restaurant since my college days, and now at 30, the food NEVER disappoints!
Although the ambience and interior are a bit rundown, I’m really impressed by how well they’ve maintained the quality of their food.
On my last visit, I had the Lamb Araes and Chicken Mandy Rice. Honestly, it was among the best I’ve had, even compared to more expensive Middle Eastern restaurants.
The Mandy rice were extremely flavourful and smokey, rice quality was perfect too. Although simple, the garlic sauces for araes and french fries dip were out of this world. Coming from a culinary back ground, this is way beyond my expectation, atleast to my tastebuds.
The prices were affordable, and the portions were generous too. To Uncle and Aunty, thank you for consistently delivering great food at such good prices. I hope your business continues to flourish...
Read moreMany years ago, this place was one of the shisha joints that was always frequented, plus their signature drink has always been the bomb (no pun intended). However, when I returned recently, the size of the signature drink shrunk - by a whole lot. I cannot recall how much it was back then, but it costs less now (because of the size) but if we were to consider volume over price, it's definitely more expensive now.
Food is still alright though slightly dry, I believe the food was prepared earlier and is served immediately upon order.
The shisha's taste/quality has also dropped. It was rather bland and didn't last long. When I was at another joint just a few days ago, the flavor was much more distinct compared to Oregi's.
