Pho Nam @ Empire Shopping Gallery — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Heyo this is Solarance again and this time round I went with my momsies to have a dinner time at this new place called Pho Nam.. I just realised this new place so decided to give it a shot 👍🏻

1- I ordered the beef set that comes with celery and it’s quite delicious. The taste is a tad bit salty if you eat it without the rice but with the rice it’s absolutely perfect. The beef is super tender and the soup that comes with the set tasted super unique and I absolutely love it 😻 also.. man the green chilli is amazing! I love it a lot and it compliments the dish very well 👌🏻 well done on the set item and it’s totally worth the price of RM 22.90 👍🏻 I’d rate this 5/5

My mom ordered the chicken chop lemongrass and according to her the taste is good and the chicken is well seasoned 👍🏻 she kinda wished got soup but the set is still quite value with only RM 20 ish or was it less. Kinda forgot haha. She rated 5/5 for this one 👍🏻

We also ordered the dumplings chicken and it’s super light and crunchy! Delicious and was kinda hoping for more. Price wise is acceptable 👍🏻 4/5 for this.

We ordered special drinks for once since we always drink water haha.. so I went with the pineapple asam boi I think and wow it taste good but too sweet for my taste though.. I’d rate it 3/5 but if I added more water, it became 4/5 haha.. my mom ordered the 6 treasure and thought she felt it was worth it, it’s still quite too sweet for her so she rated 3/5 on this. Maybe next time we both will ask for less sugar to properly enjoy it.

The atmosphere of this place is quite comfortable and the service is good 👍🏻 5/5 on this for now but make sure to keep the service top notch and the place clean and well maintained 👍🏻

I don’t mind coming back here again for more 👍🏻 keep up the good work...

18th May 2023: Service was great as I have a foot injury, the one staff was very attentive and he assisted me with great care.

Update on 8th October 2022: They've added more items to their meatless menu offerings - awesome! Prices up again as usual but at least more varieties for me to choose from 👍🏼😊

Update on 1st June 2022: Haven't been here in a long time and their prices have gone up to RM17.40! Food is still good, but wow... all the food item prices have gone up!

Wish there were more vegan options. I've been getting contradictory information about whether the meat-free meals are vegan or not. The first person we talked to at the Atria branch said that they are all vegan except for the spring rolls.

However, when I checked at the Empire branch, I was told that the meat-free chicken dishes (the lemongrass and basil) had eggs in the tofu/mock meats. How very disappointing!

But a few days ago, I decided to ask again and was told what that first person at the Atria branch said, ie only the spring rolls have eggs but all else don't. Also, the plain noodle soup under the "Add-ons" section of the menu is vegan.

Who do I trust or listen to? I honestly don't know, but the lemongrass meat-free set meal is, admittedly, good and I'd love for it to be really vegan (except for the spring...

Nice place to eat. Not a place to talk and chill coz it's noisy and always many people. Staffs are friendly and alert.

Coconut braised pork belly - nice and very flavourful. Very tender pork belly, melt in your mouth kind of tender. Bad part a bit too much salt. (Even bit too much salt still recommended)

Sour seafood soup - 1st don't assume this is a "Tom Yam" it's NOT. This soup is real sour and slight spicy, made out of tomato, pineapple, lime n chilli if not wrong. Not my type of soup and you can count the prawn. (No to that from me)

Vietnam Spring Roll / Prawn Spring Roll - Special in this spring roll is they add on spring of mint, find it bit special. (A big NO. This is not the best I've eaten)

Ordered 2 drinks. One is their signature forget the name. Sweet and nice. Second one is something like basil passion soda, something like that. Not bad as well.

2 pax ordered this food and end up very very full. So I recommend everyone, just order 1 portion each and not anything extra. Another plus point food served very fast. Will still be back to try out few more dishes cause it looks...
