Sushi Mentai @ Puchong Jaya — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

i always love sushi mentai and i am the biggest fan you could ever think of.

BUT THIS BRANCH MAKES ME SPEECHLESS. WHEN I SAID SPEECHLESS ISTG IS THAT BAD.

i ordered this dont have that dont have then what you have? the teriyaki chicken is room temperature!!! and oh dont get me started with the agedashi tofu, where’s the dashi stock?! just fried tofu with bonito flakes.

and the miso soup, i know im not paying like 15 ringgit per bowl but miso soup got no miso taste. so what is that???

i been to many sushi mentai branches and i love all of them, but this one in puchong really is next level la.

upon entering the restaurant, there’s a sour smell like the ventilation is that bad meh? pls mentai you’re better than this.

before yall come to me saying sushi mentai so cheap yet i complain to much. please i been to enough sushi mentai branches to make this review!

I’ve had Sushi Mentai in 3 different outlets ever since 2016. It was the place I first fell in love with sushi because previously I never ate raw fish or was a fan of anything raw per se. The flavours in Sushi Mentai have remained the same since the first I had it, and the flavours have also remained consistent in all 3 outlets that I’ve been to.

I love their special Mentai sauce and the free flow of ginger. Some of my favourites include the salmon, white tuna and hotate Mentai red sushi plates. Their sobas are very decent as well. I’m not sure of the exact names but I also love the inari sushi with salmon and torched Mentai sauce on top! 😋

Came here on a Saturday night 8PM+. To our surprise, the sushi conveyer belt is empty, eventho there were still lots of customer. We proceeded to ordered our food and waited for a LOOONGGGG time before the food arrived. The worst thing is they missed out 6 plates of our sushi…. (giving them the benefit of the doubt, we thought they might take some time to make those sushis and waited for one hour, just to see them serving sushis to other customers who just came in!!) We decided to get up, paid, and leave. As for the food that were served to us, they are cold and tasted average. This is the worst sushi mentai branch that Ive been to so far. Not going to...
