Be prepared to Q. I was passing by puchong & saw the branch. Decided to be brave & waited in line. I was lucky today - #5 in Q. YAAAAY. The line moved fairly quickly today & I got my order in ie 4 pieces of sushi, edamame & dobin mushi. The mango salmon sushi was fantastic. So much so I added another mango chicken floss sushi. The edamame was pretty standard. But the dobin mushi that actually showed up was shocking. Didn't look anything like the menu foto. Other jap restaurants' dobin mushi usually comes in a teapot with a mixture of seafood, chicken & mushroom inside the pot. I thought the servers gave the wrong dish (ie some mushroom soup?) when they put the bowl down - huge amount of mushroom, two pieces of chicken & the obligatory slice of crabstick/fish paste thingy. I waa genuinely perplexed to see the mushroom soup bowl masquerading as dobin mushi. Got the poor servers to double check & they returned from the kitchen with an affirmative that it was the right item. I was floored - had to recheck myself by eying the bowl placed in front of me with the menu pic. Hell, it looked different. Ended up getting them to take it back & canceled the item. And that's when the Shin crew started to impress me. They have quite a number of servers on the floor and they don't seem to fix a server to specific tables. So I had easily 2 -3 different servers coming up to me, politely checking with me on the dobin mushi. I didn't kick up a fuss (unusual for me - I'm the1st to admit that i can be a very demanding customer). A local server came up to find out more in detail very politely as well and even the manager joined her with a notebook in hand to take down my comments. The manager reassured me that the item will be not be charged (duh! I sent it back untouched) and mentioned feedback will be given. And i thought that was the end of it. Nope, it wasnt. A few minutes later, a bowl showed up on my table. The manager kept apologizing to me and asked me to try this version of dobin mushi (all the while apologizing for the wrong receptacle used). I was (pleasantly) floored again.
Look, its not just the food that came out well (esp at that kind of reasonable price point). Im not sure how they did it but Shin trained a great team who are ALL customer centric, both foreign & local alike. Its hard enough to find 1 -2 pax lone rangers with that level of quality but this puchong branch somehow got gems working there.
Good quality food at reasonable price and an team who are well mannered with customer centricity. ThIs is a RARITY in Msia. Please keep this up. Thanks so much to the team at...
Read moreI’ve been eating here for years but today I seriously need to commend their service. Brought my 93 year old grandma here for a meal and the servers were so accommodating and helpful. As usual wait times were long, but it was raining heavily. The first waiter in brown (2:30 shift) who attended to us made sure to help my grandma with the walker to our table, he also passed us some tissues for my grandma. He was extremely attentive to ensuring she was seated comfortably despite the crowds. Service was excellent throughout the meal, everyone was so patient and kind to us. The food was solid as always, grandma cleared everything on her plate. When we were leaving the restaurant, we were then met with kindness again by another server in a black shirt (4pm shift) who went the extra mile to help us walk our grandma all the way to the car. Made sure she was safe and kept her steady with us. Grandma doesn’t get to go out very often because of her legs, but she was met with so much kindness today from the staff at one of her favorite sushi places. As a family, we are so thankful for places like this. Highly recommend everyone to dine in here for great...
Read moreThe decor here seems to be retro or brutal of sort. A giant steel panel covers the area where the sushi chefs masterfully craft their nigiris and sushis. More leg room and not as crowded as the one in Bukit Jalil. We decided to go here due to the uncooperative nature of the Bukit Jalil branch not able to make a reservations for its own clients. We arrived this branch, and found that Puchong branch has more parking, close to the main road, and quite quick food preparation time. But somehow this event happened to us, when we waited for our orders for quite some time, and the later customers arrived after us received their full meal. 2 out of 5 dishes the we ordered, arrived in a first 15 minute window. But the rest just went through in a 10 minute pattern for each consecutive dishes. Quite a ride I might saw, not able to enjoy your food in one go, instead we have to wait like a course meal kaiseki. The staff apologize that for flow.
Well, just a good place to release your cravings, peacefully while listening to the non stop loop of...
