Restoran Aroma Arab Global Kuala Terengganu — Restaurant in Terengganu

Don't expect an authentic Arab cuisine. I heard some Arabic speaking people in the kitchen, I thought it was a good sign but I was wrong, they're not following the traditional recipes... You'll be deceived if you're used to eating the real deal, this is not the place where you should go. The lamb mandhi is ok although not cooked in the traditional way. However the hummus and fattoush are a total disaster. The hummus taste was so bitter I couldn't eat more than two bites, the oil used is not olive oil (or if it is, it doesn't taste like it at all), no taste of garlic, lemon or tahini, also it got dark after 15 minutes which leads me to believe it's not fresh and homemade. As for the fattoush salad, no signs of fresh aromatic herbs (mint, parsley), couldn't taste any dressing, salt or pepper, no lemon, no onions, and to top it all off the bread was too oily. On the good side, the waiters are very nice and the place looked clean. All in all, the prices are quite affordable but the end product...

On April 4th, 2025, I had lunch with my family at Arab Aroma, and to be candid, we thoroughly enjoyed the Arabic mandi kabsa mixed rice with lamb.

I have frequently visited Yahala and Hadramawt in Kuala Lumpur, but I have expressed my dissatisfaction with their food, as it tends to be overly commercialized and lacks flavor.

However, at Arab Aroma Terrangganu, the food was exceptionally delicious. We also tried the mixed grill platter and mint pot tea, both of which were delightful.

Unlike Yahala and Hadramawt in Kuala Lumpur, which add a 10% extra charge with taxes and service fees, Arab Aroma in Terengganu has no service charge, offering straightforward menu prices. The food here is not only affordable but also remarkably tasty.

The restaurant itself is very clean, although parking is unavailable. I highly recommend visiting Arab Aroma to enjoy a wonderful and reasonably priced dining experience.

Cheap, tasty and...

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The staff were completely untrained and unprepared. When I asked for a table, they said there wasn’t one available and left my family standing around without any information about the status. What were we supposed to do—walk out and find another restaurant?

This kind of treatment is unacceptable. Is this the normal practice for this restaurant? The lack of basic courtesy and efficiency was very frustrating. The space was extremely limited.

I strongly urge the management to train their staff better and improve their service. It’s disappointing and annoying to face such poor treatment as a customer. I wouldn’t recommend this...
