For me, moonlight is the number 1 place to visit in in Maafushi.. The biggest thank you to the moonlight team, you really made our holiday that little bit better and more special. A special shoutout and thank you to Hardy and Yargus (no idea how to spell your name sorry if it's wrong!) Your hospitality could not have been more lovely or welcoming. So so thankful that we discovered you on our first night. I've just returned from spending two weeks in maafushi with my dad and I think we visited moonlight every single day of our trip. The staff are so incredibly welcoming and such lovely lovely people. The food is delicious with a fabulous variety of fish, meat, pasta, salads.. Between us, we tried pretty much everything on the menu and it was all fantastic. The other restaurants don't really know how to cook fish, especially tuna, properly and they cook the hell out of it whereas moonlight serve delicious tuna dishes cooked to perfection, not overdone and lovely and succulent. The happy hour two for one mocktails were lovely with a great variety. The atmosphere was great, the only place on the island with properly comfortable seats (most places are plastic chairs and tables) and there is live music. The two guys with the guitars were absolutely fantastic, really enjoyed listening to them.

Please please, if you find yourself in Maafushi make sure you give these guys a visit. They're located at the other side of the island but as it's a small island it's not exactly a long walk either way.

During our visit to Maafushi, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining several times at Moonlight Restaurant, and each experience was absolutely wonderful. From the very first moment, the entire staff greeted us with the best energy and warm smiles, making us feel truly welcome and cared for.

The ambiance of the restaurant is charming, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal after a day of exploring the island. One of the highlights of our visits was the live music. Their singer is incredibly talented, and on one occasion, he learned to sing Here Without You by 3 Doors Down in just a few minutes, despite never having performed it before. He delivered a spectacular performance that left everyone amazed and made our evening even more special.

I especially want to highlight the team’s effort to accommodate my dietary needs. Knowing that I am allergic to sesame, they took all the necessary precautions to ensure my meals were prepared with the utmost care, which I deeply appreciated.

Every dish we tried was delicious, showcasing an excellent combination of local and international flavors. The team at Moonlight doesn’t just offer quality food but also exceptional service that makes you want to come back again and again.

I can't figure out why anyone would rate this place any higher than 2. The whole place is crawling with ants and something else that bites! Probably fleas! The food took an hour to arrive, the portions are very small and way overpriced. There was a DJ playing loud dance music while people are trying to eat and talk to eachother. We paid $13 for 6 small cubes of chicken and a small portion of store bought frozen fries. As well as $10 for a main course salad- which was tasty but the portion size of a generous side salad. It is too dark for dining. Everyone was using their cell phones to light the table in order to see their food. Then at the end they added a few dollars converting dollars to rufies when charging the credit card.

Their concept is to try to make you think you're at a club. For a westerner that's impossible without alcohol. They should clean up. Get rid of the insects and focuse on serving good food at...
