What an evening! This has been the best restaurant we’ve visited in Malta so far. We were served by a waitress that is confident, knowledgeable and friendly, who made great recommendations with wine pairing, dessert choices and portions to order.
On top of that, the food was simply phenomenal - the mushroom risotto was so rich and complex in flavours, and the pan-seared octopus unbelievably tender and cooked to perfection. We had a traditional Maltese dessert to wrap the meal up.
My only complaint would be that I wished the starters were more similar in portion size - my partner’s starter, the agnolotti was more like what one would expect for a starter size, while the risotto I ordered was quite a sizeable portion. This is truly a non-problem though since it was the best risotto I’ve had, but I wouldn’t have minded more stomach space to try more things there, since everything was...
Read moreThis is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Valletta. We went there for dinner and every single dish we had was delicious. For starters, we had the tuna tartare and the rabbit. The rabbit, in particular, was the best I've ever had - I highly recommend trying it! For the main course, we opted for the local beef which was very good and came with a large portion of fries. We ordered also some potatoes and grilled cabbage, both quite nice.
During our second visit, we tried the grey meagre for the main course and it was super tasty. I highly recommend trying it! The service was amazing, and the waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and wine. Additionally, at the end of our meal, we were offered complimentary coffee and liquor, which was a nice touch.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and we definitely plan on going again the next time we're...
Read moreWe had a group lunch here. We had our food pre-ordered. It took them almost one hour to bring the first dish out. There were tables who arrived after us and were served before us. The vegetarian risotto was amazing and rich, very flavourful. The main course (the only vegetarian dish available) was on the contrary quite a let down. Tempura mushrooms with 3 grilled mushrooms stalks and a very small amount of celeriac puree. The dish was very boring and uncreative and a very dry dish (photo attached). Luckily I got to Tate some of my friend's potatoes which were fantastic. The staff were nice however when we asked for a meat dish to be cooked one particular way, the waiter didn't know what I meant and asked me to check the meat myself. For what the restaurant is marketed to be, I felt quite...
