We had a lovely meal at the seafood market place. The restaurant has quickly established itself as one of the go to dining places in Malta and we were very lucky to get a last minute reservation thanks to Romina (Adam’s wife) who very kindly helped to accommodate us. Whisky we were there, it was clear that the restaurant had a loyal following of many regular local customers.
The interior has a cool, crisp, fresh decor with a buzzing ambiance. Service was bang on point and attentive, all under the watchful eye of Adam who was ever present on the restaurant floor supervising the staff and inspecting the plates exiting the kitchen to check that they met his approval. The barman was very friendly and knowledgeable, recommending us a very reasonably priced white wine and delightful strawberry gin (Ampersand) he had just sourced from Spain. As for the food, it was simply sublime - a diverse array of fresh, high quality seafood dishes simply prepared to perfection using many different cooking techniques. We couldn’t stop ordering and had the tuna tartare, clams in white wine, scallops, fried calamari and prawns, grilled fillet of gurbell and crispy local fries, which were all exceptional. As if that wasn’t enough, we then finished off with a sumptuous pistachio ricotta cake.
We will be sure to return if we come back to Malta (but secretly hope that Adam opens another restaurant closer to home in London so we can visit...
Read moreVery good and fresh sea food variety very well prepared..!! Excellent service..!! The owner is very attentive and polite..!!I can’t say is a VFM..!!prices are quite high some small plates cost almost 20€, i.e. fried calamari is very small so were the shrimps..!! In the kitchen nice and capable team prepares the food but no gloves.. something that I have seen in several restaurants in Malta and it is not very attractive nor is very safe nowadays..!! Ordering sea bass is normally from fish farm..!!There is wild sea bass but most restaurants have those from sea farms..!! In the Mediterranean markets does not exceed 10€ per kilo, whole sale price must be much lower but in this restaurant you can pay 2-3 times as much for a 200-250 grams sea bass..!! the tourists don’t know much about the fish they order.. so everybody is happy..! But not all of us are smiley tourists… we happened to know..!! So stick to sea food that are pricey for all..!! the restaurant and the customers ..! Oysters fresh tuna, crabs, lobsters but not sea bass or calamari and the small plates.. so ask to see the size of what you order.. get the best value for your money..in this terrific restaurant ..!! 4 stars because I never rate with 5 as there should always be space for...
Read moreThis restaurant had been recommended and they were telling us the true. First of all...all Covid measures had been taken serious. And we even loved it not to sit too close to others. The staff...competent and very very friendly. Looking always after your comfort. Really great! The menue...everything is fresh seafood and prepared absolutely fresh. If you're hungry...take one of the platter to share. We got a big double platter with cold and grilled mixed seafood. No side dishes cause we've been there for fresh seafood and that was exactly what we got. Delicious!! You receive even all tools to crack your lobster etc. Even the drinks like wine is adopted to fresh seafood meals. You can even have a look while they prepare your meal. Very clean everywhere (tables, seats, restaurant, kitchen, behind the bar, wine cupboards and...specially restrooms). Combination of seafood shop and take away snacks during daytime and grill/restaurant with same fresh food is such a good concept. Together with this great staff, smiling people around you, every Euro is worth to spent here. Please never stop to offer this perfect service and seafood. We'll come...
