Dirty customer toilets
I was out site seeing in Valletta for the first time with my boyfriend and after seeing the wartime museum I spotted this cafe at the right of the street and looked like it had a nice view down to sea so thought we'd go and try, sat and was given menus but got a very unkind look from the waiter but didn't think much of it anyway we ordered a few local beers and I went off to the toilet just like you do which after asking was down a spiral staircase into a storage area very like a basement, the toilet hadn't been cleaned since I don't know when and a lock on the door had busted its door frame and another one was added at another part of the door having experienced this and perhaps thinking of eating there started to make me feel ill. When I returned to my table I lifted my drink up to my mouth and the same waiter stood over us both and told us if we don't order some food then we needed to go but made me feel I couldn't even finish my drink. Definitely will not be back after the rude and unclean...

My girlfriend and I took a small table for two at around noon on a warm day, ordered an appetizer platter and two large waters, and then the proprietor quite rudely told us to leave when we said we werenāt sure if we were going to order an entree. He put the lids back on the waters and told us that his place is a restaurant not a bar blah blah blah. Again, this was after we ordered 20 euro worth of appetizers and water.
From the reviews, looks like this isnāt a unique experience. If youāre not planning on ordering a full on 3-course meal, theyāre not interested. We also saw another couple being asked to leave after ordering coffee in the 5 minutes we were allowed to be there.
I dunno, maybe itās a great place for a meal, but weāll never know. Plenty of good places around that were much more friendly and...
Read moreWe had a great seafood lunch here. It's a cute little taverna and basically the entire menu is seafood/fish, with a few exceptions. I am personally not a big fan of seafood, but I enjoyed trying some specialties and had a good time. The scallops were particularly great, and oysters and mussels were good as well. We enjoyed seabream and seabass, coming with really nice antipasti and rosemary potatoes. Nothing was heavy, which was quite pleasant. Perfect for lunch and some sightseeing later. Overall, if you enjoy seafood and fish in a cozy atmosphere, this is a great choice for lunch or a somewhat early dinner, since they close at 8pm already. Service is solid as well. Be aware that this comes at the usual prices of seafood, so spending more than 40⬠per person is more than likely if you have a starter and a main dish, not to mention drinks (contrarily to the estimated price range here). It's...
