I just want to preface that I don’t usually review anything bad on Google because I give the benefit of the doubt to businesses….but that I couldn’t do with our experience this evening.
Firstly though the lasagne we ordered was lovely but the pizzas were average - the dough was good but the toppings and cheese was “meh” and not worth it.
So let me put you through the experience we had and take what you want from it but I just hope the business owner can learn from this experience from a customers lens.
We arrived at 5:15pm as a group of 6 people. They had closed the kitchen until 6pm and so I asked if we could have drinks and sit down before then because it was starting to get busy and we wanted a table so we got to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere which we did.
We ordered drinks after waiting for 30 minutes for the waiter to take our order, which we didn’t mind at the time because we knew we were going to order food at 6pm.
The waiter came to take our order at 6:05pm. It was then after 45 minutes of waiting and seeing other people eat and leave who had sat down after us that we asked the waiter what was happening with our order, Who responded with “your food is in the oven”. Well our food would have been burnt if it was in the oven and after waiting another 30 minutes until we actually got our food….they had definitely forgotten.
Our food finally arrived after 75 minutes of waiting for it with no sorry that it was late.
I then asked the “manager” of the night if he could do anything to improve the evenings Experience which he responded with “we are too busy we can’t do anything for you”
We understand that Restaraunts are busy especially in peak times but this could have been handled way better (having been in hospitality myself before)
I mentioned that our food had definitely been forgotten about and that we were waiting for over an hour for our food to which he also responded with “I don’t know what you do in your country but we don’t do that here”
I never said anything personally to this man but only wanted to share what our experience was. He defintely didn’t care at all from a customer point of view, insulted where I was from and continued to act like he couldn’t do anything.
So….
Come for the lasagne but don’t come if you’re hungry or you wish to go through the abysmal customer service.
I hope this makes its way to someone who can actually take...
Read moreIf I could rate this 0 stars I would. This was our last meal in Valletta before coming home and was really hoping for a good meal. Never happened. When me and my sister arrived it looked amazing and had good reviews so we decided to eat here. Terrible decision. We ordered "garlic bread with mozzarella" and a lasagna each with soft drinks. The soft drinks tasted very watered down when they arrived. Then the garlic bread came out. It didn't have Mozzarella on, it was some sort of spread and the bread was really dry. The spread was disgusting, didn't taste like garlic at all either. My sister ate one slice and I had a couple of bites. Then the lasagna came out. It was okay. Too sweet really and not enough tomato. It didn't really taste how you would expect a lasagna to taste. My sister didn't like it at all. The waitor came over and saw we hadn't eaten much but didn't say anything. My sister asked was that the garlic bread and he said "yes, you didn't like?" My sister said no. He just walked away. We asked for the bill and when it came out they still charged us full price for everything. Even though we clearly left over half of what we ordered. There was 3 out of 4 slices of garlic bread left, about 3 quarters of my sisters lasagna and half of mine. Clearly didn't enjoy the food. The atmosphere also wasn't great as we were seated right next to the road and everyone was queueing and standing right next to us and it felt like we were being watched by them while we were eating. Not a very pleasant experience. The only good thing is there was a nice view of the street and out to the water. Would not go there ever again. Service terrible they didn't even apologise for the garlic bread when we told them we...
Read moreWe're just coming to the end of a 2 week stay in Malta and have eaten out at least once (if not twice) daily, and this is my favourite meal so far. The location is a huge selling point. Theres something incredibly charming about dining alfresco on the lit up steps, so many people walking by stopped just to take photos. It's super casual and effortlessly cool. I'm not sure if it's this restaurant alone or if the others on the same street also chip in, but someone had hired an incredibly talented jazz duet to perform at the bottom of the steps. A guy playing keys and a girl with a heartbreakingly gorgeous voice. Fantastic ambience. On to the food. Delightfully fresh buffalo mozzarella salad with sweet grapes and a zesty dressing. It really popped. Then the pizza. Oh my days. I chose buffalo mozzerala with parma ham. Best. Pizza. Of. My. Life. I never usually eat crusts but the base was divine. Very generous on the parma ham, every bite was glorious. 10/10. I came back for my last meal in Valletta wanting to order the the exact same thing but alas they don't serve pizza at lunchtime! I'm still devastated (although the rabbit spaghetti I had instead was also delicious). I'm currently staying in Gozo but am seriously considering driving the hour and a half back just for another one of those buffalo mozzarella parma...
