Popped in for a curry on Sunday night around 6.30pm. Bit quiet at that time so didn't take me long to order my meal. Had a bottle of Kingfisher to wash it down and it was nicely chilled. I ordered a garlic naan and tarkad dhal to start, refusing the obligatory poppadoms and spices, which arrived without me ordering them too! A bit thin and runny but still tasty and the naan bread had plenty of garlic on it. So far so good. For main course I ordered pilau rice and a chicken jalfrezzi. Now lots of chefs have their own ideas on how to cook a jalfrezzi and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Hardly any chillies in it and a bland ,weird flavour. I want a jalfrezzi to wake me up with a bang and deliver a chilli flavoured punch but this was lame - full stop! Not the waitresses fault though and as I was hungry I ploughed on regardless. Paid my bill and left ASAP. Very disappointed with the meal as a whole and as the chefs weren't under pressure, only 2 other people in there before me, so not sure if it was a one off or not?! But there you go. If you don't try new places...
Read moreSaw this place while searching for Indian food and just randomly walked in as we were too hungry after starving the whole day exploring Gozo. I was heavily pregnant as well. The lady who greeted us was very cold and rude. Even though the whole restaurant was literally empty with just two tables occupied, she rudely asked us if we made a booking and we said no. She unhappily pointed us to the tables with just chairs when she clearly could see I was tired and pregnant and a table with a sofa would’ve been more comfortable. I have a benefit of doubt thinking those tables might be booked but apart from one other group no one else came in for the whole duration that we sat there. Moreover, her behaviour was so rude throughout she not even once came to our table and asked how our food was when we clearly observed her doing that with other guests. She clearly had this racist behaviour towards us which seemed kind of odd considering she is working in an...
Read moreVery accommodating staff Chef is extremely knowledgeable of dietary needs Ambiance is very well designed Portions can be easily shared by two persons which makes the menus well priced. Food is very good. Can accommodate different dietary need and their menu is labelled properly. We asked for vegan versions and the chef adapted our choices to our needs.
Only con was a screen showing car racing. It jars with the ambiance of the restaurant, even though the sound was off. I would also either change the tables to solid wood (not cheap, but the rest of the place is beautifully finished), or at least add some fabric to them to warm them up visually.
