Very well done, well preserved and managed. Elevator works and great WCs right beside visitor center (and another by the big church, two on site, which is uncommon). The visitor center is 5E entry (not sure what's in there) but no charge to walk around the Citadella site, which is amazing. Views from stone walls are great. (You need good weather and no crowds to enjoy, we went in December 2022, cool, sunny, we were almost alone). Elevation is not so bad, stairs are in good shape (not busted up), the area actually looks renovated but still authentic (nice trick there).

The small town (Victoria, after the queen) is very cute, small lanes, nice little shops around, plenty of cafes and friendly locals. (Taxi drivers not so friendly...Uber/Bolt works very well, is cheaper and much less annoyance/harassment). Best of all, prices seem almost reasonable here compare to...

Cittadella was Amazing!!! We have visited different castles on this trip in different countries and this was the most complex. It walls and gates and one set walls higher than the next. Stairs and alleys that made you feel like you were in a Maze. Lots of ups and downs and some dead ends. It's one castle built on and around a previous one multiple times over hundred's if not a thousand plus years. This piece of land has been a defensive point for centuries and they have the Archeology finds to prove it. Most people can go through the castle property in a couple of hours. My wife and I spent over 5 hours and didn't see everything because many things onsite close at 1 pm (1300) on Sundays. Definitely worth the visit and pay the $5 Euro for the Museum Ticket because it gets you into all the Museums on the grounds. There is one house that is...

Bought the Cittadella Combo Ticket. €13 adults/ €9 seniors and students with proof of student ID / €7 children under 11. This price bought entrance to the Cittadella Visitor’s Center, Gozo Museum of Archaeology, The Old Prison, Gozo Nature Museum and the Gran Castello Historic House. All of these places were visited and the grounds were walked within a period of two and a half hours without any stops for bathroom, coffee or food. There are plenty of bathrooms and areas to eat, drink or snack.

Credit card only. Will not accept Euro. 10 minute Video available upon entry. Worth viewing before heading off to the five museums in order to get a historical overview.

Bathrooms nearby the main entry: have toilet paper, soap and hand dryer. There are other toilets throughout the complex. A map is...

This is where you can buy every to a number of museums in the citadel including the visitor centre itself and in the town of Ggantija (more below). ENTRY TO THE CITADEL ITSELF IS FREE, this is just for the museums. The visitor centre does have a 10m video, which is actually really good and with watching. The rest is probably not worth the time. Entry is €13 as part of a combined ticket that includes 5 Citadella museums (Cittadella visitor centre), museum of archaeology, old prison, Gran Castillo historic house, and nature museum) as well as the Ggantija Archeological park (€10 on its own, making the combined ticket worthwhile) and Ta Kola windmill.
