Il-Ħaġar Gozo Museum — Attraction in Victoria

Conveniently located in the popular and central St George's Square, this museum offers a wide range of artefacts connected with the island of Gozo, especially with its religious heritage. Amazing - free, but donations appreciated. Multilevel historical building of rooms filled with local historical and religion related artefacts chronologically telling story of Malta and Maltese part in global historical events. Space is used also as an art gallery, currently with stunning exhibition proving that creative mind can create beauty by upcycling discarded porcelain (mugs and plates), jewellery and even zippers. This is a charming little museum tucked away in the side streets near the entrance to the basilica in Victoria. Lovely friendly welcome with a brief explanation particularly of a local artist who had made pictures out of smashed ceramics and glass. These were incredible artistry and such a skill to have to produce such pictures of such high quality.
