Waited 45 mins for fish biryani (around 370 rupees) which is very disgusting, tastes like chili with salt with something else and with high probability the fish was in the freezer for a long time, incompetent staff, dirty cutlery, the family next to our table waited more than an hour for their lunch, we've been in different Indian restaurants all over the world and this is the worst, staff are only making excuses, we're not coming back and I don't recommend.
Replying to Chutneys
Even if it's a relaxed dinner or lunch, 45 mins waiting time is too much some of your customers even said they waited for 1 hour and 30 mins, 20 - 30 mins is standard time. Even if you say you take time to cook.
Supervised? We didn't even saw a manger, you had 3 people working at that time, 2 are still preparing drinks and the other one is still near the door. Before we can place our order it was another 15 minutes. After 5 minutes or so your employee informed us that any chicken dish is not available, they should be well informed so we're not wasting time.
Fine ingredients? Your fish biryani tastes so weird, it's pale in color like light yellow, and all the other biryani i ate around the world was never like that, never, it's like your chef ran out of the spices or forgot to put it in the food.
And you know what, it's enough, I'm merely pointing out what you should change so you can provide better services to your customers it doesn't matter, you run your business like you want, we won't be returning there anyway. You're studying diners reviews, I studied hotel and...
Read moreWhile the atmosphere is great, the food has a lot to be desired. We paid an exorbitant amount for lunch. The food does not taste like authentic Indian food, and they use too much cinnamon. The best thing here are the samosas. Go for a light snack and drinks, but choose a different restaurant for a full meal.
EDIT/ADDITION Since the owner decided to respond in such a negative way, I have decided to also respond back. To the restaurant- I’m glad your chef is “a learned and celebrated culinary expert”, perhaps he needs to focus on the food you advertise as…. Indian food! As a person who has lived in India for 8 years and who is married to and Indian, we had more to complain about than just the inauthentic taste of the food, but I chose to keep my review more simple. When I mentioned the chef used too much cinnamon, it was just one example of the many things wrong with the taste of the food.
As for the price- I did not write this review solely for the inaccurate quality/price ratio. I was merely outlining something you could improve. Trust me I have eaten at restaurants where to just sit in the restaurant is 10 times the amount of our full bill at your restaurant. So again, it is inaccurate to assume I was “transferring my pain of the price”.
Do better and accept constructive criticism rather than rudely replying to your guests. I will never be back to your restaurant! I have deducted 2 stars based on your...
Read moreWorst ever service/courtesy i ever got in any restaurant in Mauritius. They are just not intrested in doing any business i guess. I went there with my family- parents, wife and kids (4 year old) My kid always have french fries from Mcdonald on sunday so they were eating there fries when we went and we were asked to tell them not to eat in the restaurant. I told them next time i will take care when we come by this time to let them alway as its just fries and they are 4 years old. The waitress insisted that it cannot be allowed. On which i said we will have to leave in that case and the waitress said me to leave. We could have easily billed for MUR 3000 but just because a kid eating fries they lost the business and i left. They had no courtesy at all. I will never ever visit this restaurant again and also will discourage all my friends to go there at all. They dont realise they had lost more than 20 such tables in a year because if this incident. If they continue with such behaviour dontknow how would they be surviving in the...
