Located in the coast road in Flic and Flac, amongst a small strip of other restaurants. We went here for 2 consecutive nights as the steak was so good on the first night. Had the fillet on both occasions, absolutely fantastic! A really good portion and so tender, cooked to absolute perfection too. Better than any steak I've ever had in either the UK or the US, in fact only South Africa could rival it. Great value too, at around only £16 for a 9oz/225gm fillet with fries and a few veg. My wife had a curry the first night which she said was good too but had steak the second with the same reaction as me. Unfortunately on the second night they dropped the ball a little by somehow forgetting to put our order through! After a very long wait I went to see what was going on and the mistake became apparent. They did give us a free glass of wine each but really it should have been apparent to them that something was wrong when we were sat so long without food! That said when it did finally arrive it was excellent once again. Absolutely deserves 5* for the food but sadly it was the service that let it down on the second evening. That said, mistakes happen and I'd definitely recommend a visit and we will definitely return next time we are on the island.....I'll just be more aware if the food doesn't...
Read moreHave previously been to this restaurant, a few years ago, and it was great. However it has gone massively downhill in a relatively short space of time. It is impossible to recommend it unless you have more time or money than you have sense.
The menu used to be an interesting and varied selection of grilled meat and fish (grilled T-bone steaks, sesame crusted tuna fillets, etc) that you couldn't get in other local restaurants, something actually unique for the area. Now it is somewhat more generic, with fewer of these exciting options. The food, when it comes, is okay. Nothing more, nothing less. Not super expensive but portions are quite small and items like the salad and rack of lamb are very average in terms of quality.
More important, the reviews and comments about service are spot-on. It is terrible. Waiting 15 minutes for someone to take a drink order, waiting to order food because the waiter is re-setting an empty table in a not-very-busy restaurant, being told to go pick up our own menu from across the restaurant in order to order a bottle of wine all contribute to the air of Fawlty Towers-esque incompetence. Expect to wait, and wait, and wait. And when the waiting is over, expect to be mildly...
Read moreThe place was nice. Comfortable setting. The service was good and friendly. The food was good and the portion relatively okay. I said okay comparing to other places we have been on the island. Prices are fair. You can have a three course meal without ruining yourself. The only negative point was other guests smoking. Actually we were sitting outside, so I guess the policy allows for those sitting outside to smoke. I think it's general rule here on the island.
So I'd advise to sit inside to avoid inconsiderate guests who don't understand that you don't wanna be smoking with them and you sitting outside means you just wanna enjoy the fresh air and not their smoke. Other than that as I said, good place by itself.
Edited. I came back here again months later, the service was perfect. The food perfect, the starters, the main course, the desert and the drinks...just perfect. Their beef roulade as starters just great, their prime beef steak perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy though I ordered it well done. It wasn't dry, it was really great. I enjoyed it and had to update my review. I definitely...
