Terrible service as this place works only 4 hours and gets extremely crowded mostly by Indians. We got table right after the entrance door on the 3rd floor which definitely ruined our experience. We asked to relocate to the balcony but nobody gave a crap about our wishes. Having tiles on walls and staring at them while eating reminds us of eating in a toilet. This place needs serious renovation and giving a different vibe.
Service is sooooo slow, wait for an order 15min, wait to get drinks another 15min (take into consideration that no alcohol is served so only sodas are available and it doesn’t need time to be prepared), begging for someone to take the paper with our orders - another 15min, and finally someone to bring a bill - new 15min. All of this is funny because our table was 0,5m away from all the waiters and their standing spot (where the food elevator is).
Food is just okay. Fried vegetable noodles were surprisingly tasty, but dry - you can feel the flour if you don’t swallow after 3 seconds. Sweet and sour chicken was good if you don’t think about how gummy and tasteless is the chicken itself. And the cherry on the top - They don’t tell you when you order COCA COLA that you will get some copy of cheap cola which tastes really bad (it was probably some Indian product and wanna be coca cola). Naans with butter and garlic one were great!
There are a lot of employees, but it seems that they don’t care a lot for their work and nobody knows what is their job. If someone goes to one spot of the balcony, all the others follow because why not, and that leaves a bigger mess. The hygiene of preparing the food is also questionable.
2* only because the food wasn’t bad. Everything else is...
Read moreBEWARE OF ORDERING THE WHOLE GRILLED FISH
This is the third time I am having a bad experience from this restaurant.
One side of the Fish was over grilled and turned black while serving the dish they hid the damaged portion down and kept the better side up. I reported the matter to the staff at the upstairs of the restaurant and he understood the issue and apologized. A few months back I ordered the Grilled Fish but the belly portion of the Fish was stinging and it seems not fresh and I didn't complain about it. Last Saturday I went to the restaurant and ordered the same Grilled Fish and informed the staff that I had a bitter experience in the past so serve me a proper Grilled Fish. The fish was served so I started with the salads, french fries and the fish later, when I started eating the belly region It tasted bad and stinging with a bad smell. The reason why I am writing this review is that I reported the issue to the lady at the cash and the service guy. I even asked them to take the fish to the Chef and smell or taste the belly portion but they were reluctant to listen to my complaint. I appreciate that they have a HALAL Certificate and follow the guidelines. I am requesting the management to address the grievances of the customers and do not serve the rotten or old fish in the future if you are honest and loyal to the customers. There is a lack of professionalism among the staff because they are employing cheap labour from Madagascar, Bangladesh etc which I have noticed. I am writing this review to address my issue and not to spoil the reputation of the restaurant and hope they hire an experienced Chef...

Our visit to Zub Express was one of the highlights of our trip to Mauritius. The restaurant serves an amazing variety of delicious, fresh, and authentic dishes that cater to every taste — from Mauritian specialities to seafood and international favourites. Every meal was HALAL and simply outstanding.
But what truly sets Zub Express apart is how much they offer beyond just dining. They made our entire trip smoother with their affordable and seamless car rentals, which allowed us to explore the island with complete ease. The process was straightforward, budget-friendly, and their team ensured everything was well taken care of.
For Muslim travellers, Zub Express is incredibly accommodating. They provide daily prayer facilities on-site and even have arrangements for Jumuah (Friday prayers) — something that is so rare and appreciated when travelling.
Another huge help was how they assisted us in arranging a high-quality yet affordable airport transfer with Nazia, which was both cheerful and professional. Their team genuinely cares about making sure you have a stress-free, comfortable experience from start to finish.
Zub Express is far more than a restaurant — it’s a warm, welcoming hub of hospitality, practicality, and great food. The staff went above and beyond for us, and it’s a place we will always return to when in Mauritius. A 10/10 experience — highly...
