This Korean restaurant is supposedly popular for grilling your own meat but upon arrival, they told us that we wouldn’t be able to grill the meet ourselves. If we wanted to eat grilled meat, the kitchen would grill it then bring it to us. According to the server, this was due to a lack of grills available. Thus, we decided that there would be no point in getting grilled meat so we tried to order the budae jjigae. The same server proceeded to tell us that the budae jjigae would take too long for them to serve and therefore, we could not order it. Thus, we tried to order from another server hoping that maybe another server would allow us to order the budae jjigae. This second server went to the kitchen then came back to tell us to change the order to the pork / chicken mandu jeongol instead because “it’s the exact same dish but with dumplings”. This is my first time hearing a korean restaurant saying that a dumpling soup is the “EXACT SAME” dish as a korean army stew. They are not the same at all and the ingredients are completely different. 100% would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who expects a more authentic korean food experience. It was by far the most disappointing korean restaurant I have...

I am very disappointed with this place. The interior itself looks very nice and welcoming so the first impression once you enter is positive. However, it took ages for the waiter to come and take the order, then ages to get the food and again another 20 minutes wait to get the bill. Lack of staff or it’s slowness is a problem. Then the food- we have ordered tteokbokki, a simmered rice cake and it was horrible, we tried our best to eat it but gave up after few trials. The dish must be chewy but instead they used horrible rice quality and the dish was very loose. Finally, when I got the bill where I was expecting tteokbokki to be removed from it as we barely eat it, the waiter didn’t have any interest to ask how was the food and why the dish left almost full. Instead I said to him that tteokbokki was not good and in return I received a complete ignorance. All he said it to me is ‘OK’. I mean how uninterested the waiter was to the feedback of the dish literally killed me. This attitude is not acceptable! At the end we left the restaurant very disappointed and I doubt we will come back. Lack of competition in the island is the only reason why they still open and uninterested to...

This is a small chain with 3 branches across the island, Cascavelle, Curepipe, and Grand Bay. We tried Grand Bay, and we're very impressed. The restaurant is on the first floor above a decor shop. The layout is beautiful, with chic Asian inspired seating and pictures. The tables have a built-in electric Bar-B-Q in the middle and a brass looking extractor that looks stylish even when not used. We had some streamed dumplings to start, which were very tasty. Main course we had the pork shoulder and the pork belly. The belly cuts were a little icy still, but both were good cuts. The sauces and accompanying dishes were excellent. I enjoyed the pickled onions but found the Kimchi a little too spicy (but very authentic). Desserts are limited to 3 dishes, but the cheesecake was enjoyable, and paired nicely with the ice cream, it was rich and creamy, and the vanilla gave it a slightly grey colour, not the 'fake' yellow we see all too often. To drink, we started with the homemade lemonade, which was so good we kept with it all...

Visited KK for lunch on Wednesday —it’s was a working day and few people for lunch —Liked the atmosphere and the grill on the tables and portable chimneys designed for best effects —we had the Pork grill and the vegetable grill —BON helped us to lay out the grill and helped us to cook the same —we had Virgin peach crush and Virgin PIna colada paring with Mandi chicken (Dumplings) and Chicken and egg fried rice —Over all a good experience —Suggest that the veg grill items may need some marination or something to taste it up —the Non veg grills in its own juices so it tastes good —Inwould recommend people to try out this place
