Blue Lagoon Cafe — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

I want to give them 6 stars! I spent half an hour on this stretch in Grand Baie asking cafes and restaurants if they could serve a late breakfast - this was past 1pm. They all declined, some even looked at me weird. I got in here and the lady straight up asks if I just woke up, bursting into this big laugh. It was past breakfast time, but she was willing to make an exception. This isn’t even to diminish the quality of the food - which was great by the way - and the excellent views of the water from here, but the customer service was the best I ever experienced in the whole of Mauritius. There was even another conversation where we agreed that I would help them wash the plates if my card was declined. I had my belly filled with food and laughter before leaving this place. View is nice but food portions were tiny and over priced. Our mains were starter sizes. I had the seafood gratin which had very little seafood in, was mostly cream and cheese. I asked the waitress if the gratin came with potatoes and she said no it doesn't because the potatoes in Mauritius are not good. But then she said they can specially make me potatoes as an extra side if I want. I found this very strange because the gratin was a small portion in itself, so for it to be served without any potatoes or chips normally, it would be a starter portion. My partner had the main portion of calamari which also didn't come with chips and there wasn't much calamari on the plate. Again was more of a starter size. The meals were great here (try the tuna tatar) and the portions are reasonable. The view of the bay in front of you is very nice and the relaxing atmosphere is very inviting. They accept CCs [except AX] and have cold beers and also tasty desserts.

Come maybe for an earlier dinner if you would like a quieter more personalized service.I...
